within this pixel width range the new additions to the header (>Events and Geographic Information Office) cause the header to double up in height. see below photo. need to alter breakpoint so all header elements collapse into mobile hamburger menu.

when running a prod build, command npm run dist, the console displays the deprecation warning below.
this is most likely occurring due to a method being used in the gulpfile. the fact that it doesn't appear when running a dev build indicates that there is a good chance it's from a method in a gulp task only being used in the prod build and not the dev build. if not, it may be webpack config related.

investigate so we can get ahead of this deprecation.

less than 992px, event circles become too large and single stacked. this is purely cosmetic, but i think it would look better if they were smaller and in maybe two columns for smaller devices. right now they are definitely too big though.

@KCMack I wanted to feature the keynotes on the front page in a cleaner way, so I put them on the side where the training was, but with the training it became a lot. Welcome to the 32nd annual Texas GIS Forum. Statewide support for geographic information has never been greater. GIS is no longer a set of tools understood by very few. Instead, geographic data and GIS concepts are recognized at the highest levels of government as important state resources. As data users and application developers, you have demonstrated the importance and the value of GIS as a critical resource to greatly benefit all Texas citizens.

Helping others gain access to information to perform their day-to-day activities is now an expectation and data sharing is “the new normal”.

Our common goal is to develop and use geographic information for the good of Texas. Across the spectrum of industries, as GIS professionals we are cooperating in new and better ways to prioritize the needs of the state. Very few states experience coordination and collaboration like Texas.

The Forum theme this year is “The Human Side of Data”. How we develop and use our data helps us understand ourselves and the environment. Ultimately, it benefits all Texans. Many speakers this year will focus on the human side of data as the theme for their talk which will demonstrate and describe our common goal.

Speaking for the GIS Community, I want to thank all sponsors who have made the important decision to support our event this year. We realize that you have choices about which events hold value to your organization. The fact that you have chosen to participate in our Forum speaks volumes! Miguel A. Pavon was born in Mexico City. His day job is the Special Projects Coordinator for Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS), a division of the Texas Water Development Board. During evenings he teaches at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas in Austin. On weekends, he attempts to catch up with family and make progress on his “honey-do list”, which is an up-hill battle.
His undergraduate degree is in Physical Oceanography from the State University of Baja California, and he holds a M.S. in Environmental Engineering with a specialty in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Monterrey Tech. Most recently he earned a certification as a Floodplain Manager from Texas Floodplain Managers Association, TFMA. Miguel’s current research interests are Geographic Information Systems applied to Public Affairs, U.S.— Mexico relationships and environmental cooperation, environmental health, water quality and quantity issues, lidar derivatives, remote sensing and sustainable development.

Need to change the current approach to leftside box next to main image.

We still don't have the details up for the social, which we would also need on the program.

within every 'year' folder for the texas-gis-forum templates (templates/events/texas-gis-forum/<>/) is a "poster-submission.njk" template file that is never used. every event year page has a "poster-gallery" page/template and each one calls the same partial from 2015 for the poster submission form, {% include "partials/2015-forum/poster-submission.njk" %}, while the poster-submission.njk for that year goes unused.

this should be cleaned up to create consistency and remove unused files. i see 2 ways to clean it up, either:

1. delete all the unused poster-submission.njk files from all the forum year folders. then move the shared poster-submission form template out of the 2015-forum partial folder into a properly descriptive location in the file structure. then update all the poster-gallery includes to use this new location.
2. update all poster-gallery includes to point toward the proper poster-submission.njk for that particular year

i think solution 1 is more correct considering all poster-submission templates are exactly the same. multiple duplicate files justifies a properly, shared partial and removal of the unnecessary excess.

in migrating the contact app to api.tnris.org, testing on the Job Board form yielded buggy behavior for file uploads. although almost all uploading was removed from the site, test the uploading capabilities on any forms to verify it is still working. Forum Job Board form definitely should be supporting uploads. Georodeo speaker submissions should too although there are no instances of this currently on the site. Any other locations that support uploads on tnris.org we could test??

Laura Chapa is a GIS Analyst for the Landscape Ecology Program at Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Since joining TPWD in 2014, Chapa has worked on mapping Texas vegetation statewide, as well as Conservation Opportunity Areas for Texas species of greatest conservation need. Over the past year, she has devoted her time to mapping potential breeding habitat for an endangered species, Houston Toad. Chapa earned a BS in Biology and MS in Sustainability from Texas State University, wherein her thesis involved using an UAV to map vegetation along a riparian corridor.
