sta's Issues

Support computing mode

It would be great if this could track frequency of inputs to provide mode in addition to mean and median. Since a vector of datapoints is already being maintained, the small additional storage for frequency shouldn't be an issue. (If online algorithms for mean and stdev were being used to handle unbounded input streams or reduce memory footprint, I would be more concerned about the space taken by a frequency table.)

Percentiles

The quartiles and stddev are great, but percentiles would be really useful when crunching data such as response times. Either a flexible list, --percentiles 50,90,95,99 or fixed at 5% intervals with the last one being 99%.

Great project, I'm looking to get this rolled into our base chef roles.

install

Nice code. I had to do two things to install

  1. To get autogen.sh to work:
    ln -s makefile.am Makefile.am
  2. To get it to compile, I had to change #include to #include <string.h> in sta.cpp.

I think issue #2 has something to do with my linux/gcc config.
