JS-Error in IE8 while calling createEvent with an HTMLEvent about ie8 HOT 3 CLOSED

this lib supports document.createEvent('Event'); and CustomEvent if you put dom4 after.

I am not sure about what kind of HTMLEvents you are talking about and without seeing the code I don't know if this is a valid issue.

It's hard for me to see where the call of createEvent is coming from (even with https://github.com/stacktracejs/stacktrace.js/).
I needed a polyfill just for addEventListener. I ended up with the gist of https://gist.github.com/jonathantneal/3748027
So there is no need for us to spend more time on this.

That's not a polyfill , it's rather a basic sham that does trick features detections without bringing real DOM3 features . Happy to know that worked for you, so would have worked mine which is used already in production in many sites.
