(NEW) New official hierarchy package now available on asset store - Hierarchy 4

Hierarchy 2 free is now deprecated (This repo and also on asset store), i no longer update or add features to it.

Instead i create a paid Hierarchy 4 package (Now available on asset store), paid package allows me to spend more time on it, add new features, fix bugs, optimize, update soon when something changes, and make sure it work stably with Unity.

The Hierarchy 4 package guarantee support 2022.2.x and higher (Official support LTS, Normal version. Beta and Alpha if possible). Also works with some LTS before 2022.2.x like Hierarchy 2 (But not guaranteed).

License missing

Thanks for sharing your open source project, but it looks like you haven't specified a license.

When you make a creative work (which includes code), the work is under exclusive copyright by default. Unless you include a license that specifies otherwise, nobody else can use, copy, distribute, or modify your work without being at risk of take-downs, shake-downs, or litigation. Once the work has other contributors (each a copyright holder), “nobody” starts including you.

choosealicense.com is a great resource to learn about open source software licensing.

The MIT License seems to be what most Unity related projects on here are using.

This package must have Assembly Definitions (Editor and Runtime)

Hi!

First of all, great job with this library, it is really great and useful.

  • Unity Version: 2019.4
  • Problem: the lack of assembly definitions make it impossible to build a game with this asset.
  • Solution: just create and include the assembly the definitions on the Editor and Runtime folders.

I hope to create a PR later today.

Bug - Settings not save

Hi,
When changing setting. It is not save to Settings.asset file.
When i close then reopen Unity. Settings reset to default.

RiderFlow

Hi, first of all, thank you for your extremely useful tool.

I've tried to use with "RiderFlow" extension for Unity and it's a bit buggy, for example:

I want in hierarchy mark a game object as frequently changeable and mark it with a star icon but hierarchy 2 scripts don't allow me to do it.

UPM compatibility

Please make this package UPM compatible. There is a PR for this #7 but it's been over a year already and quite out-of-date. Much appreciated.

Creating separators in prefabs doesn't seem to work

Hi,

I'd like to create separators in my prefabs (as they can get pretty complex), but it doesn't work with Hierarchy 2. Whenever I try, nothing happens, and the separator is instead created in the main hierachy. Is there a way to make it work please?

More header options

I would like to see more options related to Headers:

  • Customize the header prefix (for example, I would like to use ---Header instead of $hHeader)
  • Option to force a tag, if force, should be EditorOnly by default, instead of Untagged
  • Option to force capitalization of the header (not really essential, but useful)
  • Correct alignment (because you are moving the rect x position, you should correct the header size with rect.width -= GLOBAL_SPACE_OFFSET_LEFT;)

I already did most of these modifications in my local project, I can send a PR with these later today.
