tolgee-platform's Issues

Use of "username" term is confusing

While looking at the source code (and on the login page), I saw that in a lot of places (including in the database), the email address is referred to as "username", which was quite confusing to me at first. On the login screen, it makes it ambiguous whether the app is asking for the name you set while registering, or the email address. It also made me confused at first when browsing the source code, as I once again didn't expect the username to be a reference to the email address.

While renaming the database field and request objects internally may be a breaking change, changing the wording of "username" to "email" or "login" on the login screen would be less confusing to end users, and would be more consistent internally.

Error importing .po file

I'm trying to import .po file for a WordPress plugin, but I get this error "Unknown keyword 'msgstr'"

error-import-po-file

Batch Operations

  • Machine translation
  • Pre-translate by TM
  • Mark translations as "Reviewed", with language select
  • Mark translations as "Translated", with language select
  • Add tags on keys
  • Remove tags from keys
  • Change namespace of keys
  • Batch copy translations from one language to another languages
  • Delete keys
  • Clear translations โ€“ with language select

Backend challenges

  • Large chunked processes using database and Redis
  • Use cache to save database resources
  • Handle Activity Log correctly (log start, finish and modified entities)
  • Handle single Chunk tasks (key deletion, tagging keys, state changes)
  • Enable Task cancellation
  • Lock single job run in single project
  • Optimize the queries
  • Auto translation as a Batch Job

Features maybe someone else also need

Hi Everyone,

I tried out tolgee the last few days. I pretty like the simplificant of the app. Its pretty cool.
I have some ideas maybe someone also need it:

Can we apply users to the specific languages ? so only user A can edit english ?
Why Translate role has the ability to export the translations ? - can we make it possible to enable / disable it
Why Translate role has the ability to integrate ? - can we make it possible to enable / disable it

Inventions Links with expiry date ?

Would be cool if these features could be added :)
If you need help i could also offer to help :)

Many Thanks

Support for .ini files

I would like to request the support for .ini files as the source of the languages. There are plenty packages to convert the .ini files to a key-value array so this should be quite straight forward.

Thanks

Tooltips for icons on top right

[Feature request]

It would be nice to add a tooltips (with short description) for two items presented below on the screenshot:
image

Repro steps:

  1. Go to https://app.tolgee.io/projects as logged in user.
  2. Hover by mouse the mentioned elements (top right).

Proposed message for the first one:
"Select language" or "Change language"

Best wishes,
Michal

Api keys redesign

Make API keys view to look nicer.

  • Replace the scopes with number of enabled scopes
  • Add label so users would know which keys are used for what
  • Hide key values and show just beginning and end

SocketIO Docs

Currently the docs on all socket events are missing as well as a more detailed setup when self-hosted.

Ability to resend registration email

Update by @JanCizmar:

Currently, the user cannot login before they have verified e-mail.

  • Enable to the user to login, but without any permissions, telling them, they should verify
  • Add backend endpoint to resend the verification link
  • Add the "request verify" screen to the frontend
  • We need to limit the number of the requests per hour to some constant per e-mail and ip

[BUG] JSON keys with dot conflicts

Hello,

First of all great open source project !

ISSUE : When you use dot to separate your keys the json files will create conflicts between keys
EXAMPLE : auth.login.forgot_password and auth.login.help_text

SUGGESTED SOLUTION : Parse dot (.) as nested object in JSON

SEE : Example in file

Danger zone - frame issue

Hi. First of all, really great project!

Repro steps:

  1. As a logged in user, go to the Project settings:
    https://app.tolgee.io/projects/<number>/manage/edit
  2. Change browser window size, make a window width smaller
  3. Take a look at the Danger zone (out of the frame)
(important note! these steps with expanded menu from the left side)

Add project dashboard page

Project dashboard should provide statistics for whole project and for each language as well as links to some basic actions.

Information about project

  • ID
  • Members (Users)
  • Project Owner (Organization/User)
  • Total key count
  • Total word/strings count ([total number of stings] = [number of keys] * [number of languages])
  • Total translated percent + words/strings (switchable?)
  • Total number of reviewed percent + words/strings (switchable?)

Individual language info

  • Name / Original name
  • Tag
  • Is base
  • Progress bar with percentage
  • link to edition
  • link to translations
  • other actions: Delete, Auto Translation, Export
  • Collapsed stats for each lang
    • Word / String count in each state, percent
    • Total words/strings

Instance administration

It'd be nice to have a way for administrators (I noticed there's already an ADMIN flag on users) to be able to see all the users, organizations, and projects living on the instance, and manage them. This could also allow disabling registrations on an instance, and creating accounts manually for people who should be allowed to log in.

As tolgee.io also provides Tolgee as a service, management can quickly become an issue and a nightmare to deal with when people decide to start abusing the platform (we can't have nice things in this world ๐Ÿ˜”). Maybe it'll also become a handy place to put tools when paid plans roll out as well, who knows!

Backend documentation

I am trying to get the spring backend up and running in order to try things out regarding webhooks. Since I am new to spring I don't have experience in getting those kind of projects up and running. Therefore it would be nice to have some documentation.

Key dialog styling

Make key creation dialog an single key view to look nice as in the tolgee-js UI

Translate permissions for specific language

Currently, we cannot simply enable users to translate specific language. So we need to provide special configuration option to specify languages when user has translate permission.
