Ah, maybe I need to check if bind mount works on this machine, that's probably the problem.

@gashcrumb right, looks like you cannot bind mount a local directory (i.e. the 'resource/' directory) into your vm. Also, are you running a remote Docker VM ? (i.e. access it with a DOCKER_HOST ?). In that case the script won't really work (you would have to run it from within the VM)

No no, local machine, no VM. Probably a setting I need to hunt down.
Once I get that figured out, is it safe enough to do a dry run of this script and just discard the commits it creates?

Yes. Typically I do a fresh checkout in /tmp and run the script from there (on upstream). Just don't use --git-push and you are fine (and can delete the whole directory aftewards)
