presentations's Issues

Need a presentation on optionals

A little animation to illustrate unwrapping / binding and such would go a long way to explaining how optional types are like "boxes" that contain an expected value or nil.

Closures presentation needs animations, syntax examples

The Closures presentation is a bit weak and only illustrates the very basics of passing a block of code. This is because the presentation was derived from an older one about Objective-C blocks.

Improving the concept of passing closures could really benefit from some animation.

In addition, an animated progression from passing a function name, to a closure expression, to a closure expression without any type annotation, to using shorthand argument names ($0), to trailing closures would be very beneficial for students to see. The experience should be like whittling down from functions down to really terse trailing closure syntax.

Re-add iPhone-like diagram art

While we can't use photos of real hardware in here and remain compliant with our CC license, we should be able to use original art. A colleague created some very elegant device art that resembles an Apple device but is indeed original art. Need to check with Apple to make sure that using the art won't put us into any legal situation.

This needs to be re-added to existing Keynotes, existing Keynote master slides, and the Keynote template.

App Launch presentation

Need to incorporate the presentation on app launch, including application entry point, top level code, main.swift, and the synthesis we get with @UIApplicationMain.

(To be referenced in RSSReader Lesson 1).

In addition, we'll want to include the storyboard unmarshaling, initial view controller instantiation, and the interaction between the app instance, delegate, window, the initial view controller, and its view.
