In the Makefile, the commands to copy the bst and the bib files to the install directory are missing. I had to add them at my fork, so that the abntex library works.

Can someone tell, whether it is correct as it is now? Or should the Makefile be changed?

Keywords should be separated by periods instead of commas

Hi, as it is today there is a bunch of files in the iiufrgs package. Perhaps we should merge them to get a minimal set of required files. What do you think about this?

Usei o repositório na minha graduação em música na UFRGS e funcionou bem! Estou usando no Mestrado. Eu sei que é feito para o ii da UFRGS, mas seria interessante colocar nos .tex variáveis para mudar o nome do instituto e curso na capa (como tem para mudar o nome da faculdade). Por exemplo:
\def\ii{Instituto de Artes} \def\ppgc{Programa de Pós Graduação em Música}
Talvez tenha uma maneira mais "correta" de fazer.... Mas assim funciona hehe....

Uma duvida tem como gerar a capa também ? A ultima vez eu modifiquei a folha de rosto para se adequar a capa da ABNT (que são parecidas).

O capítulo onde são listadas as referências bibliográficas está alinhando o texto a esquerda. Sugiro adicionar a opção bibjustif ao pacote abntex2cite para deixar justificado

Estou utilizando o arquivo iiufrgs.cls para definir a classe da minha tese (aliás, ótimo trabalho realizado pela Informática) e gostaria de verificar como fazer para que seja possível inserir uma lista de quadros.

In the table of contents, there is more empty space before the references then it should be.
We get:

O modelo não deixa claro como escrever uma tese em inglês (o mais comum para área de informática) com as citações de dois ou mais autores usando separador "and" ao invés de "e". Uma screenshot demonstrando o problema segue:

Isso leva a duas questões:

1. Esse é o comportamento desejado? O padrão ABNT indica que "e" deve ser usado mesmo se o texto está em inglês?
2. Caso o comportamento não seja o desejado, como é que o template deve identificar a língua do documento?

O cabeçalho da minha proposta de tese (de onde veio a screenshot acima) é:

Eu me lembro de ter tentado vários workarounds sem sucesso (como invocar babel passando english diretamente, e fazer ajustes no iiufrgs.cles). Um colega de pesquisa do meu grupo conseguiu resolver o problema com uma gambiarra:

Eu consegui resolver o problema do and/e usando essa solução: https://groups.google.com/g/latex-br/c/RA86vYeepvQ/m/UbgWhAEensQJ. É meio gambiarra: baixei o arquivo abntex2-alf.bst da internet, coloquei no diretório do .tex, e modifiquei a variável que usa "e" pra usar "and".

O arquivo alterado está anexado: abntex2-alf.bst.zip.

Estou abrindo esse issue tanto para documentar o problema para quanto deixar o workaround disponível para outros que venham a ter o mesmo problema enquanto isso não é resolvido na fonte.

A ABNT atualizou várias normas recentemente, sendo a mais significativa a mudança na caixa alta da citação.

Por exemplo: (SILVA, 2023) para (Silva, 2023)

Um issue já foi aberto no abntex2 (abntex/abntex2#260), onde também se encontram mais detalhes das outras mudanças. Porém, não tenho ideia de quando e se alguém vai implementá-las.

Compiling results in a perpetual latex warning regarding changing labels:
Label(s) may have changed. Rerun to get cross-references right.

This interferes with some tools for automatic recompilation / opening of pdf files (such as LatexTools for Sublime text). The reason for the warning seems to be a redefinition of \bibcite in abntex2cite.sty (around line 629)

The fix is to simply comment those lines:

Could you add this change to the repo?

• Paragraphs probably should be preceded by 5 numbers (e.g. 1.1.1.1.2)
• Spacing between numbering and title should be smaller

Just a sugestion: I use TeXstudio for Windows and had to add the line

\usepackage{epstopdf}

in order to make any example run. I suggest to put it in all examples (don't know if there are other implications on this, tough).

A NBR 14724:2011 estipula que a ordem das abreviações na lista deve ser alfabética.
Muitos trabalhos de graduação do INF/UFRGS que usam os exemplos desse repositório como base acabam não seguindo essa regra. Os exemplos poderiam ser ajustados e conter uma menção à norma.

Usando o iiufrgs.cls, os seções não estão sendo numeradas. Analisando o arquivo, vi que o comando

Retirando o marcador de comentário (%), a numeração fica correta. Sendo assim, está correto as seções não estarem sendo numeradas?

I noticed that in modelograduacaocic.pdf, figures in the List of Figures are listed like "Figura 1.1 – figure caption", and likewise for tables. This "Figura" (and "Tabela") is missing in iiufrgs.

Por algum motivo a biblioteca mathptmx não está funcionando com a versão mais nova do texlive e por isso passa a descartar coisas como os parênteses e alguns símbolos matemáticos (exemplo: \nexists) dentro do math mode.

Esse problema acontece sem dar nenhum warning ou erro, então foi difícil rastrear. Só sei que em versões anteriores do LivTex funciona e que sem essa biblioteca na versão nova também funciona.

Olá, acabo de receber a informação de um ótimo template beamer para apresentações do INF/UFRGS. Foi feito pelo @menegola e o @lmborba. Está disponível aqui: https://github.com/menegola/inf-beamer. Seria bom incorporarmos esse bom trabalho neste repositório, criando uma versão em ORG.

• Spacing between the title "ABSTRACT" and text should be smaller (maybe 18pt?).
• Spacing between the main title and "ABSTRACT" should be smaller (maybe 24pt?)
• There should be no indentation

Submitting iiufrgs to CTAN should make it easier for people to install/update the package, via tlmgr for texlive or the miktex package manager.

Some questions that need to be decided:

• Should we remove the included copy of abntex2? (abntex2 is already part of CTAN)
• Should we translate the README / other documents to English?
• Which CTAN directory?

The TOC should not contain the list of tables, figures etc.
First entry should be the first chapter (usually, "Introduction")

As keywords deveriam ser as mesmas independentemente da língua do abstract , além disso hoje elas são definidas em partes diferentes do arquivo o que me pareceu meio confuso. Alguém tem idéia de como unificar isso?

Reorganizar os fontes, seguindo as recomendações do documento Latex2E for class and package writers para distribuição massiva (pela submissão ao CTAN).

~/texmf is the correct user install directory only for some tex distributions (on Linux, mostly); MacTex uses ~/Library/texmf for example.
The platform independent way is to run kpsewhich to get the path to the user install dir:

tocstyle has been withdrawn from the koma-script bundle in july 2020, and is being considered as obsolete.
I believe that tocbasic should be used instead.

If we try to use the color package, we get erros like:

This also happens with todonote.

After having upgraded by debian system, sections, subsections and subsubsections are not being numbered in the text. They correctly appear numbered in the table of contents, but not in the text. I have made a very small package that show the problem (see the PDF within). Link:

Uma integrante da minha banca de defesa de tese apontou para o fato de que estão aparecendo "et al's" nas referências (não nos pontos de citação), quando o correto, nesta área, seria mostrar sempre todos os autores. Bug ou intended?

I'm trying to migrate the documents in my iiufrgs-pack to the most recent version of iiufrgs, and I found out that the space left for section numbers in the TOC is too small to accomodate two-digit section numbers. I could track the change to commit bf9e46d, specifically:
