salty-747's Issues

XFEED valves moving too fast

When trying the XFEED valves I realized they move from one position to the other too fast. This is indicated by the VALVE amber light that comes in the pushbutton. It should stay on for around 1 second.

Engine start sequence completely wrong

I checked today the engine start sequence on the simulator and it is horrible.

When you pull the engine start switch the engine starts turning as normal but the word AUTOSTART shows immediately, this should only happen after you move the fuel control switch to run, then the computer knows you want to do an AutoStart.

The maximum EGT stays near 400 degrees but doesn't reach when in reality the EGT goes very close to 600 degrees.

The start switch goes back in at around 51% N2 and it should be exactly at 54%.

Also the sequence is wrong. The engine computer always follows 2 logics: One when the engine is cooled, the engine will start turning when you pull the start switch, as soon as the N2 reaches 20% a timer will start and at 18 seconds FF will go to 0.3 (300kg) instead of the 0.6 the simulator shows and the engine will start. The other logic we could simplify it by saying if you do 2 flights in the same session, then the second start will take 58 seconds from the moment N2 reaches 20%.

Autostart

You can check it in this video at 49:20

Flaps stopping at each detent

When you extend for example the flaps from 0 to 30 you can clearly see and hear that the flaps stop for less than a second on each stop. This should not be like that, flaps should drive directly from one position to another with no stopping.

TAS, Wind Indicator displayed below 100 kts on the ND

Current Version
Master

Issue Description
TAS, Wind Arrow, Speed, Direction and Separator are visible on ground when GS is less than 100 kts, IRS is not aligned.

Expected Behaviour
All the above indicators (including text and value) should come alive only when the GS is more than 100 kts and IRS is aligned. Below 100 kts, only the GS value should be visible on the ND.

[BUG] Icing with new wingflex

Although not in the release notes, I believe the wing flex fix that has been mod does not affect the icing, so the ice on the engines is in the wrong place.

Ground FMA and FD behaviour not correct

Still seems to be bugged.

Current ground behaviour with FD on:
bug

Correct behaviour:

  • TO/GA should be visible as active mode in the FMA (x2 for pitch and roll) as well as any armed modes below (LNAV or VNAV)

  • also Flight Director pitch bar should indicate 8 degrees nose up on ground.

All screen go black.

During preflight, while entering values in the FMC all screens go black (also frequency displays and squawk) and it's not possible to turn back on. Occurs on different moments. Not sure what triggers this.

bug with APP mode and other strange occurances.

Was entering ILS for 31L KJFK. Hit Loc a few miles out of the range, the 747 lined up horizontally with the runway. I watched the vertical diamond drop for altitude and once it hit the white horizontal line I hit APPR mode. The PFD switched to LOC, Altitude mode and all 3 autopilot lights came on but right away the APPR light turned off and wouldn't engage. its like altitude mode shut off and wouldn't capture the altitude changes. I have also noticed when setting VS mode the VS line on the PFD will have the purple box and will climb for a short bit but the VS purple box will go away and it will do what it wants. You have to double click VS again and set it again. I also had VNAV and LNAV doing some weird stuff and turning randomly when using active pause in MSFS2020.

Vspds don't reset after landing.

Hi the Vspds don't reset after landing, I have tried everything that I know on how to reset them in FMC to no avail,
to reproduce use slew or land.

Crossfeed valve 2 and 3 operation

I really like the new EICAS synoptics and there is a function not implemented in the fuel synoptic that maybe is easy to implement. When flaps are selected for take off (flaps 10 or 20) the XFEED valve 2 and 3 should close. This is to make sure enough fuel goes to the engines for the high power requirement on take off. When flaps are retracted the valves should open again for the rest of the flight. After landing the logic has a 40 second time delay to avoid reclosing when flaps are retracting. That means that if after landing you retract the flaps only to 10 or 20 degrees after 40 seconds the XFEED valves should close again.

Radioaltimeter knob inop

PFD shows no change in RDR, or BARO when switched accordingly, even not any selected DH/MDA can been seen after dailing the knob.

Reverse levers not aligned

I dont know exactly why something so obvious was wrong designed but the reverse levers should be aligned instead of levers 2 and 3 being a bit more forward than 1 and 4.

2 PTT switches on the side panel.

On the simulator you can see 2 PTT switches on each side instead of a PTT and a CLOCK switch. The top one should the the clock and this should trigger the chrono in the ND.

Untitled

RES and STAB not transferring.

Have attempted just about everything. I set the force transfer of RES 1 & 4 from AUTO to ON and made sure the STAB tank pump was on, but It is still refusing to transfer to neither the engine nor their respective tanks. Am I missing something?

Waypoint displayed on ND before IRS alignment

Current Version
Salty Mod

Issue Description
Currently, waypoint data is displayed on the ND regardless of IRS status.

Expected Behaviour
Waypoint data must be shown after the IRS is fully aligned.

Taxi Light illuminates cockpit

During night time (and I guess of course during day time), the taxi light illuminates the cockpit, which also can be monitored during landing gear extension/retraction.

Can't change speed to knots

After skipping (The travel to function) to decent the speed is in mach and when i click the change button nothing happens. I remember this was a problem in the A32X mod as well but they fixed.

Vref - Disagree (FMS - PFD)

FMS shows a Vref of 159 kts, but PFD indicated 150kts. Will need to double check this on a next flight, but maybe someone has the same!?

FMS - T/O page , V-speeds don´t change

When selecting any flap settings in to T/O page in the FMS, the V-speeds do not change regarding the new selected flap settings. The values remain the same as privoius calculated.

Plane does not move after start

When I start flight from a parking position and set up all systems the plane does not move. Even
Neither pushback nor forward. Parking break is released.
Even when I increase thrust it does not show the increase in the panel.
Do you have an idea?

Problem with the flaps and the ap

Hi,
I recently tested the mod, and I have an old problem with the game that only reappears when the mod is enabled. The plane loses a lot of altitude abnormally once the flaps are removed and when I activate the ap with a set altitude, it stings down.
Sorry if this is not very well explained ^^
The mod has a big potential, thank you for that.

STATUS page

I saw the STATUS page when selected shows all zeros. Is this a bug or maybe you are not sure what it shows, I could help with that if you need.

FMA not showing modes on ground

When switching on the Flight Director on the ground or spawning with it on, TOGA mode is active (correct pitch up shown by the FD bar) but this not shown in the FMA pitch and roll display.
bug

IRS Time to Align indicator

While IRS system is aligning, the ND should display remaining time until alignment is complete for each individual IRU.

ENG START Switch LIGHT always ON

In the overhead panel, normally when selecting an engine starter the light illuminates and turns off, when the engine starter cut-out. These lights are always on

Fire extinguisher bottle discharge lights

The fire extinguisher bottle discharge lights are controlled with the circuit breaker/overhead panel light potentiometer. This is wrong. This lights should only come on when the bottle has been discharged, what is actually not yet simulated.

FMA should display THR REF when TO/GA switch is pressed

Current version
Default

Bug Description
When the FDs are on and the A/T is armed, the FMA does not display THR REF when TO/GA button is used for takeoff.

Expected Behaviour
The FMA must display THR REF which is commanded by the reference limit confirmed in the FMC and shown on the upper EICAS, then go into HOLD mode at 80kts.

References
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L1vA-xJt-M (thrust application starts at 6:59)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPgwzCN8EB0 (goes into HOLD mode at 0:31)

Hydraulic panel PRESS lights

With the engines not running the PRESS lights on the hydraulic panel are ON. This shouldn't happen as the demand pump selectors are in AUTO. This means that demand pumps 2 and 3 should be working because they are electrical and we have power on the aircraft and demand pumps 1 and 4 should work whenever we have bleed air from the APU available. So summing things up PRESS lights for 2 and 3 should be always OFF. 1 and 4 should go OFF after starting the APU and selecting bleed ON. This will have more logics when demand pump switches are made operative.

A/P VS mode (unstable)

Very unstable behavior after deselecting VNAV and activating V/S.
I selected 900ft/min climb but the plane goes crazy climbs/descends up to 3000ft/min.

Taxi Lights bleed into the cockpit

Current version
Default/Master

Bug Description
Taxi lights bleed into the flight deck and stay lit even after the landing gear is retracted.

Expected Behaviour
No bleed in. Taxi lights should go off after gear retraction.

Spoiler logic

Spoilers can be extended in flight to the UP/Ground spoiler mode, which should be available only up to FLIGHT
