New users might go insane with the existing timeoutlen. Presently it is set as 50:
set timeoutlen=50
maybe it should be put somewhere around 1000 to make it easier for new users using your configuration. I had spent 3-4 hours to find why nerdCommenter wasn't working. Mentioning this in the README might save others going down the same road.

Alternate scheme configuration for Molokai color scheme is given as g:rehas256 = 1 in .vimrc of both branches
This should be g:rehash256 = 1

The "git submodule update" command results in

ssh: connect to host github.com port 22: Connection refused
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
Unable to fetch in submodule path 'bundle/gist-vim'

And on trying further:
fatal: Needed a single revision
Unable to find current revision in submodule path 'bundle/gist-vim'

On installing after ignoring the error message, i get

and there are some weird symbols on the status bar.
