When contributing to OpenStreetMap, please review each change manually. There is a.o. potential for bad judgement. Treat editor warnings and suggestions with caution. When doing (semi- ! )automatic edits, follow the Automated Edits code of conduct.
Regarding use of Wikidata, see #9231 (comment)
For the (mostly) unique GNIS feature ID it may be easy to implement extra code which provides one or two suggestions, but it may be just as easy if not easier to check the wikidata page manually, or resolve this using MapRoulette challenges.
(Furthermore, making adjustments to other fields which already have a default suggestions list may cause some confusion with unexperienced editors -and such suggestions will be inconsistently given based on there being proper wikidata page-.);
