It is not some kind of bug, it is done intentionally , In the context of domain names, the comma character is rarely used, while the semicolon; is commonly used as a delimiter. The code replaces all occurrences of , with ; in a given string. This is done intentionally to standardize the format of the data, making it easier to split the string into an array of substrings later on.

Thank you. I think I read something like it is intentional for the sake of being able to mass add sources into the textfield - however could not again find the issue mentioning it now.
I just would have wanted a way to overcome this behavior.
I'm fine now as I found/was pointed to work arounds. Having this documented as an issue with work around info here may help others to find and solve it and so I will close this.
