Hi,

 Do you have an mdsip service running on that host and is port 8000 

on that host open in its firewall? Can you try using the "Tdi"
application on the MDSplus menu and type:

mdsconnect('192.168.1.11')

and see if that produces an error?

Hi Tom,
You hit the nail in the head, the mdsip service was not running on the server side. The power had gone out on the server side a while ago. Now everything was back up and running, except for the mdsip service.
