@ajashton now that we include Arial Unicode MS Regular and Arial Unicode MS Bold with Mapbox Studio, should we change the fallback fonts in this style so it has better language support?

From this commit, there were several shields added to the repo that consist of symbolic links to aj's files ;p

Need to add some styles for the #landuse_overlay layer in style.mss

I think the highway shields look a bit clunky. Colors (particularly border color) could be refined. I checked the widths for particularly wide refs and they look good, so no need to adjust width.

May I know if the local data source in SQL queries from osm-bright (osm-bright.osm2pgsql.mml) will be ported to osm-bright.tm2 or not?

Need to style ['mapnik::geometry_type'=3]. This is mainly for street, street_limited (also maybe paths?). These are mainly pedestrian walkways.

Trying to use OSM Bright 2 tile layer in and of a section of Shanghai and when I am at 15 + zoom layer, the characters for street names and locations are breaking.

I suspect it has something to do with the unicode, any suggestions on how to fix this issue and reproduce the proper tiles?

Road labels seem too big in some zoom levels, and/or too dense.

I've download the project to the dick and change the configuration file in the /usr/local/etc/renderd.conf. But the result is gray pic.

Using current master of tm2 (mapbox/mapbox-studio-classic@e0b699a)

Forked osm-bright and opened it;

TM2 crashes because of missing markers in the project.

clothing-store-12.svg is also missing from the repo.

We've got 3 image directories now, "pattern", "icon", and "img". The last one should probably be "shield" instead. Also need to update make_shields.sh for this.

These look awkward:

Once we've done a cleanup of maki icons in the maki repo (strokes for border, all shapes one object, etc), we should bring those new icons into this project.

There are a bunch of svgs in there that aren't being used.

I had changed the source to v4.2dev, but per offline conversation, we should change it back to v4.

When I displayed mbtiles (https://osm2vectortiles-downloads.os.zhdk.cloud.switch.ch/v1.0/extracts/morocco.mbtiles) that use 'Tifinagh' font, the city/twon label text is not displayed correctly (display as squares). I assume because 'Tifinagh' font is not supported.

Is there a way to add support for such font in this style ? May be a how to to add it myself if possible ?

I think the color palette could be more refined, especially landuse colors, and neighborhood label color.

OSM-Bright is not styling secondary roads (In dutch N-roads) with new planet.mbtile from osm2vectortiles.org
