When i scan by internal storage with diskusage it shows me multiple apk files from apps that i dont have installed, like yandex, evernote, and facebook, but there is no way for me to find out where these apk files are stored as pressing the 'show' button attempts to open app info and the delete entry in the hamburger menu is disabled. it would be useful if there was a means know the path of these apk files, so i could manually remove them.
After choosing any folder for scanning with version 3.3., I get the above error
(on Android 2.3.3 IC GS A2SD 1.1.4 Stable; on my other phone with 2.3.5. it
works). Version 2.0.4 does not have this defect.
BTW, why is the latest version available on the Market (3.3) not available for
download here?

The scan binary on the internal storage can not be executed on my device because the execute permission is missing. Every time I start the app, the permission is removed. If I start the app and then change the permission using a file manager, the app works fine.
Request:
Please support sparse files by reporting both apparent and allocated file sizes.
Some smartphones use filesystems which support sparse files. The diskusage app
only appears to report the apparent file sizes. One such phone is the Motorola
Moto X which uses the F2FS filesystem on the data partition.

1. Open Application.
2. Select to scan the external SD (in my device: '/mnt/media_rw/sdcard1').
3. The application does not scan the partition.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Before Android 4.4.2 the device was scanning the directories and showing the
blocks for the space ocupied.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.4.2 on Sony Xperia's Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

> What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install the Sygic app (trial).
2. Download one of the larger maps. Like Germany.
3. Start DiskUsage, open [Storage card], and see Sygic take up a couple of 100
MB in [Storage card]/media/Sygic. 737 MB for Germany right now.
4. Close DiskUsage.
5. Go to the Settings → Apps and close Sygic, delete its cache and data, and
then uninstall it, in that order.
6. Start DiskUsage again. (Optionally go to root mode.) And open the [Storage
card].
7. See it rescan the [Storage card]. (Optionally click the button to rescan
again.)
> What is the expected output?
The Sygic folder should be gone.
> What do you see instead?
The Sygic folder mentioned above still exists and takes up the same amount of
memory. Even though in the Terminal, in root mode, I can see it’s definitely
gone.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
• DiskUsage 3.4 (via F-Droid)
• Android 4.4.2 (both stock and CyanogenMod ROM show this)
Please provide any additional information below.

Galaxy S5, Android 6.0.1, Verizon version G900VVRU2DPJ2
System settings reports 14.84 GB in use of 16.00 GB. Drilling down, the report shows:
1.16 GB Avail
5.46 GB System memory
7.96 GB Apps
0.21 GB Pictures, videos
0.35 GB Audio
0.54 GB Other
which adds up close enough.
diskusage is showing only 10.77 GB total for "Storage Card" with space used showing:
7.36 GB Apps
1.11 GB Media
1.13 GB System data
1.17 GB Free space
Is there any way to see what's in the 5.46 GB of system memory?
Dear developers,
We have recently developed a state-of-the-art static analysis tool for uncovering API compatibility issues in Android apps. Applying this tool to open source apps on F-droid, we have exposed a few instances of compatibility issues and submitting them to development teams for a fix.
For your app, we have found that this project has accessed the following APIs which are available only on an API level higher than the declared minSdkVersion and which are accessed without proper protection. In other words, if those APIs get called at runtime, it will trigger a NoSuchMethodError and thus result in a crash of the running application.
<android.widget.SearchView: void setOnQueryTextListener(android.widget.SearchView.OnQueryTextListener)>:[11,25]
<android.app.Activity: android.app.ActionBar getActionBar()>:[11,25]
<android.widget.SearchView: void setQuery(java.lang.CharSequence,boolean)>:[11,25]
<android.view.MotionEvent: int getPointerCount()>:[5,25]
<android.view.MenuItem: android.view.MenuItem setActionView(android.view.View)>:[11,25]
<android.widget.SearchView: void setOnCloseListener(android.widget.SearchView.OnCloseListener)>:[11,25]
<android.view.inputmethod.InputMethodManager: boolean hideSoftInputFromWindow(android.os.IBinder,int)>:[3,25]
<android.widget.SearchView.OnQueryTextListener: boolean onQueryTextChange(java.lang.String)>:[11,25]
<android.widget.SearchView: void setIconified(boolean)>:[11,25]
<android.os.AsyncTask: void ()>:[3,25]
<android.app.ActionBar: void setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled(boolean)>:[11,25]
<android.view.MenuItem: void setShowAsAction(int)>:[11,25]
<android.view.MotionEvent: float getX(int)>:[5,25]
<android.app.Activity: void invalidateOptionsMenu()>:[11,25]
<android.view.MotionEvent: float getY(int)>:[5,25]
<android.app.ActivityManager: int getMemoryClass()>:[5,25]
Note that, because of the nature of the static analysis, we cannot confirm whether the flagged APIs would actually be called at runtime (e.g., unreachable code). However, we still believe that those APIs, which may cause compatibility issues, should not be accessed or at least be accessed with proper protections.
In addition to the aforementioned APIs (i.e., backward-compatibility), which could cause app crashes if accessed, we have also identified that this project has also accessed some APIs that have been removed from the latest public SDK, making the app possibly suffer from forward-compatibility issues.
NONE
We would be very much appreciated if you can acknowledge to us that those reported APIs are indeed problematic for the project’s long-term stability. please let us know if you need any more information relating to this issue report.
- What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install on Nexus 4 or 7 (or probably any Android device without SDCard)
2. Launch application
3. DiskUsage ask from what storage it must report usage, but there is only one
- What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It would be nice to go directly to the report, without having to choose between
one choice.
- What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Current version (3.4) of app on current version of JellyBean (4.2.2)

Please support also https://github.com/arpitkh96/AmazeFileManager as file manager
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use FolderMount
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount) for e.g.
like:
* "Symlink" /storage/sdcard/Android/obb/example /storage/extSdCard/Android/obb/example
2. Open DiskUsage and select /storage/sdcard
3. See how the scan progres goes up way over 100% (like 105% or such) ;)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Disk-Usage includes the contents of the bind-mounted ("symlinked")
direcotry in the calculation, therefore the contents of the internal SD may sum
up to more then the size of the internal SD.
The directory should be excluded from scan, because it is empty in fact.
Also you may not show bind-mounted "devices" in the storage selection, but
thats no big deal.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.4.1 on a rooted Android 4.2.2
Please provide any additional information below.
Not a big issue, as just unmounting the folders solves it, but getting a
progressbar over 100% is always funny :D

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In a rooted phone, use Link2SD to move application. The apk is moved to SD;
/data holds only a symbolic link to it.
2. Enter disk usage and scan /data
3. Locate the moved application
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Since the apk has been moved, and only a symbolic link remains, it shoultake a
tiny amount of space. But the program reports it as if the file were still
there.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DiskUsage 3.3.2 on Android 2.3.5

When I look at /data, the filenames are too large for the column widths (eg
com.google.android.apps.plus). I can expand the column, but it snaps back.
(PS I now find I can look at /data through the applications, where the filename
is replaced with the app name, which aren't so long, but I think it still has
the same problem)

F-Droid detects new releases only when new git tags appear.
(I'd like to check if the new version has a fix for external SD-card)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start application
2. Select App Storage
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to be able to see the app storage at least, but also the system data
folders as to locate things more closely. Instead, I can only see the
applications and the space they use - which doesn't really have an impact on
me, which is due to using A2SD+.

It'd be greatly appreciated if it could be "Internal storage" or "Root" rather

Hi,
the app works nice on every target except for the AppStorage.
While scanning it will always stuck (forever) on some app. I tried to uninstall all of those causing the issue but now is getting stuck to some SmartcardReader app that I guess is a phone component.
How can it that be solved?
I have a hauwei y300.
Thanks!
Ghost Commander is easily one of the most functional file managers for Android.
It would be great to have diskusage integrate with Ghost Commander when
browsing files.
A better solution would be to allow diskusage to browse a directory with ANY
file manager on Android. If more than one file manager were installed, Android
would list the applications capable of handling the request (similar to the
option to select a browser for a web action when more than one browser is
installed).

I've been using DiskUsage for a long time as it is a very simple, lightweight yet complete and useful app. For the same reason, I've also been using Total Commander as my favorite file manager. However, for some reason DiskUsage doesn't seem to be able to "show" directories with this file manager, and instead pops up a "No viewer found" error message.
I don't know were to start from to solve this and I would really appreciate it if you could guide me. In the past I used ES File Explorer and it worked OK with it, but it has become very large and cumbersome for my rather old cell phone.
Thank you
If I select anything else than storage/emulated/0 or app storage I get this error. root access granted.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Just a tiny thing. According to the icon design guidelines (
http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/icon_design.html ),
icon size should be 72x72px for hdpi devices. Your's a little smaller, and so
it gets resized on the device, what makes it look blurry.
Adding some transparent pixel as a border would solve it.
Would be great if you could change that in a future release.
I attached one with such a transparent border.
