富贵福祥,将厚吾之主也,贫贱忧戚,庸玉汝于成也.”这里的“庸”是“常”的意思,“汝”是你的意思,“玉”可解释为把你当璞玉一样的琢磨,“玉汝”是指把你当璞一样反复琢磨才能出玉.全句连起来解释为：贫贱忧戚,是可以帮助把人当璞玉一样琢磨直至成功的机遇.“玉汝于成”是个倒装句,就是“玉成于汝”的意思,整句话解释为：艰难困苦的逆境更有助于人成功,贫贱忧戚的生活,可以磨练人的意志,能激发人们奋发向上,经千锤百炼,终有成就.这句话既是唯物的,又是辩证的,成为很多名人发奋努力的座右铭.它演变到现在,就是“艰难困苦,玉汝与成”.意思是要成就大事业,必须经过艰难困苦的磨练,经过风雨之后总能见彩虹.
