openrct2's Introduction

I am Chris, a Computer Science student.

Things that interest me:

Linux and mobile Linux distros, such as SailfishOS and Ubuntu Touch.
Creating GUIs, especially in QML. I haven't found a GUI framework yet that sparks the same joy as Qt's QML, although I would like to find one in case the Qt Company loses its mind.
Operating Systems, especially those with microkernels.
Open standards and free software. Ironically I'm writing this on GitHub.
Game engines in general. It's such a shame most people seem to flock towards a few well-known ones.

Make the GUI more touch friendly

Add an option to enable a touch friendly UI that:

Increases the sizes of buttons
… … … … sliders
… … … … dropdown menus
… … … … window borders
… … … … text inputs
Shows/hides the virtual keyboard on text input

Implement SIMD instructions where applicable for better speed

The game already uses x64 SIMD instructions (such as SSE) on several places, such as in the software renderer. This would improve performance.

System volume is not respected by the game

The game always seems to play at full volume, completely disregarding the system volume.

Landscape mode

Check if the compositor supports rotating the screen. Otherwise, implement the rotation of the screen within the application itself.

Implement basic window rotation logic
Implement in SOFTWARE renderer
Implement in SOFTWARE_HWD renderer
Implement in OPGENGL renderer
Remap input coordinates
