This is an analysis package made for the application of spectral decompositions for dimensionality reduction on Python.
This package is meant to help provide a set of tools for use in analyzing data using spectral decompositions beginning with SSA, MSSA, and TSSA along with accompanying plotting and statistical testing tools. On a personal note, this is supposed to serve as a running example of proper software development practices for my future projects.
Much of the inspiration for this project comes from the RSSA package by Alexander Shlemov and Anton Korobeynikov and also the pySSA project by AJ Cloete.
This package gets its name from the alternate name for SSA (as it was independently developed in the Soviet Union), the Caterpillar method. This was made in large part due to my gratitude for the work done by Drs. Anatoly Zhigljavsky, Nina Golyandina, V.V. Nekrutkin, Alexander Shlemov, and Anton Korobeynikov for their many texts and software packages on the SSA technique. Also, PySSA was taken :)
