You can use the surplus channels as virtual channels.

Do we need more channels or mixes?

X channels are priority channels and get acted upon first for sequencing 
purposes. not simultaneously. The way it is now the gear will hit the doors

I'm still not getting this.  Can you supply a simple scenario and how you would 
program it with the X1..X4 channels?  Also describe how it should work.

Ahhh...  Now I see (needed to play with it for a while).
I'll do 2 things.
1) Add a delay for each mix.   Not just speed up/down but start delay.  That 
could make sequencing much easier.
2) Stick switches when implemented would also be an alternative for this.

I've added delay which should help with sequencing.
The other items will be dealt with on input functions.
