emlid-docs's Issues

Wrong description of Ardupilot integration

In the description of the Ardupilot integration of Reach M2 and Reach M+ it is stated, that:

Then set SERIAL4_PROTOCOL parameter to "20" - NMEA Output. This will enable Serial4 port to be used as NMEA output.

(The statement itself is correct but at this point you don't want that. You want the Ardupilot to know that there is a GPS attached and it can use it as an NMEA Input)

I tried a lot but for me it only works when setting it to "5" - GPS.

In my opinion this is an error in the description.

Mission Planner: 1.3.74
Ardupilot: ardurover-4.0

Recommend the default navio image

I tried to use the recommended image by the documentation here https://github.com/emlid/emlid-docs/blob/master/docs/autopilots/common/ardupilot/configuring-raspberry-pi.md, however ran into the following issue: emlid/pi-gen-navio#4

Looking a bit deeper, navio-stretch is the default branch not navio-buster, I believe the navio-buster link has been updated to the documentation prematurely. Should the link be changed back to the stable and working navio-stretch one, instead of navio-buster? At least until the navio-buster branch is the default one for generating the navio image?

Navio2: Document the location of log files

It seems to be a common problem that downloading DataFlash logs through Mavlink may be very slow. Thanks to this forum topic https://community.emlid.com/t/can-download-dataflash-log-but-cant-find-on-sd-card/13803/5 I could download the log files directly from Raspberry in seconds with WinSCP.

Please check the /var/lib/ardupilot/logs folder.
You should look for .BIN files, not .bin.

I am not sure where in the documentation would be the best place for that valuable piece of information.

edge: New recommended repo for rtl8812au

It was always a pain for me not having the rtl8812au as an upstream kernel module. Fortunately at least now there is a fork that is maintained much closer to upstream. I just installed it for 5.5.5 and it's working fine:

https://github.com/gnab/rtl8812au

It would be nice to get the quickstart page updated with this info.
