wattz's Issues

Exit button

Hi, this is a fantastic app, but isn't it a bit stupid to have to force close every time? It would be nice to have a gracefull shutdown somehow.

As a side note: maybe you can make the font a bit bigger? And you can publish the apk also in the Playstore? Not a deal breaker but will be nice.

Best regards, Teo

Put Space between Value and Unit

In the main app display, could you please put a (possibly non breaking) space between the value and unit as required by the SI standard? Like "0.9 V".

IMHO this improves readability.

please increase versionCode

versionCodefor your latest release is still set to 1. Android uses versionCode to tell versions apart, F-Droid will require you to have it increased or it cannot update.

Oh, F-Droid will require Fastlane Metadata, too. I'll prepare a PR to provide you with a starter package.

App doesn't detect actual power drain, shows 0.0W

The app doesn't work properly on my Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G (Android 12, OneUI 4) and just shows an amperage and wattage of 0.0 all the time. I suspect it has something to do with a Samsung quirk, that gives milliampere instead of microampere. One way to solve this might be to check whether the suspected "milliampere" (probably ampere on Samsung phones) are actually bigger than, for example, 5"mA" and to not divide by 1000 again if that isn't the case (I have yet to see a phone that uses 20W or 20mW).
Then again, I'm not 100% sure whether this is a Samsung quirk, but the logs show nothing suspicious.

About

It would be useful to have an "about" in the settings which indicated what the current version the app is.

Charging direction indication

I cleared all storage and found the app showed that the device was indicating Charging when NOT plugged in and Power and Current readings were negative. In Settings the Invert Current is turned off and the Preview is positive. (Current Units need to be set a mA). Everything is reversed when charging

If I turn on Invert Current the preview is negative. The the Charging indicator is correct BUT Power and Current are positive. When plugged-in the Charging indicator is correct but Power and Current are negative.

If seems that the charging indicator is out of sync with the Power and Current indicators. Can this be fixed?

BTW phone is a realme X2 with Android 11.

Charging information doesn't update

On Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, the charging indicator doesn't change from its initial value (which is "yes"), neither does it show the right wattage. It stays at zero, and the workaround doesn't work either. (Possibly a Samsung only problem, works fine on other devices)

Charging info

Hi again. So this is probably on me. But I was trying to figure out the differences between some of my many chargers and UBS charging cables. I can see Power and Current change when I plug in different chargers. But the values are always changing. Is there a way to calculate how much juice is coming from the charger?

invert charging + Factor 2000x nessesary

  1. Charging "yes" shows discharging power (-]
  2. Faktor 1000x result is half of real Power. Better 2000x would be useful.

Add start on boot option.

I was thinking it would be nice if added start on boot option . maybe a toggle button to enable/disable. Do that I can see the power consumption after rebooting without unlocking and starting the app.

And please add a toggle button for the notification. Bcs sometimes want it and sometimes don't. It could be enabled by default but it needs a button . whenever I want the notification to stop showing i have to force stop the app itself.

Time to Charge: Fully Charged is incorrect

Hi. Nice app!

Where it says "Time to Charge" it says that the phone is "fully charged". My battery is currently at 76% according to the battery page of the settings. So that's not being calculated correctly.

I'm on a stock Google Pixel 7. The app does correctly detect when the phone is plugged into an AC charger, a computer's USB port, or not plugged into anything at all.

Can I get a simplified info screen

Can I just request that you put out information that even my grandmother could understand. Like maybe display this phone is charging with the 10 watt charger most likely, instead of showing me the exact Watts or amps or whatever. I mean being able to see the accurate numbers is good, and important, but I would love it if you could just display a much more basic version if we set it that way. Like take the data and translate it into human speak like your phone is charging on a 15 watt charger, your phone is just discharging fast, or slow. Your phone is overheating, anything basic just like make it how Apple would display it...

since version 1.11 temperature is hanging

Since version 1.11 temperature is is no more working for me. It stays always with the same temperature even then the phone is getting hot.
All other values are working fine.

Anndroid12, Sony Xperia 5 III

Amperage, Watt and and charging not working

Current metering and power metering not working on Samsung Galaxy A52 5G.

Upon putting phone ln charging, the charging text is showing "not charging".
Upon removing phone from charging, app will notify that phone is fully charged despite phone being not fully charged. Push notification constantly saying phone fully charged.

This is with running app v1.4 from F-Droid. There is yet no version 1.5 on F-Droid where problem is claimed to be fixed.

DateTime since put on charging

DateTime element showing date and time when phone was put on charge is constantly being refreshed to "now" while phone is being charged.

Running watt v1.7.

[BUG] Charging status flipped.

Wattz shows the charging status as true when the device isn't charging and as false when it is charging.

How to show watts in status bar?

Hello,

I've installed the application but do not see how to make it show the watts in the status bar. Running Android 12 (LineageOS).

Is there some setting to enable this?

Icon

Add material themed icon

[RFE] hide on charging / not charging

I'm only interested in charging current and want to save notification space otherwise. I'd appreciate an option for hiding the icon on not charging or charging.

Rotate Information

Hello!

Came across your application and its absolutely amazing. I was wondering if it would be a cool feature if it was possible to select a few units at once and have it rotate between those stats on the status bar? Or have the option where you can select a different stat while charging.

Amazing work 👏

Watts or mAh Selection

Feature Request: A toggle to swap usage in Watts to usage in Milliamp hours.

Additional feature: If mAh is over 1,000, an option to display it in shortened form (-1.0K mAh)

Love the simplicity of the app, keep it up.

[Feature Request] Battery Percentage

Before you all jump on me to say this feature is already implemented in Android, please hear me out:
The Android native Battery Percentage is linked to the Battery icon. Meaning that disabling the icon will unavoidably disable the %.
I personally don't care much about the battery icon, but I'd like to see only a percentage in the status bar.

I'm wondering if the dev would be interested to add this as a feature.

Also, is it an Android thing that regular apps show their icons on the left side of the status bar? Would it be possible to display it on the right side?

Thanks.

feature request: charging current

hi, i looked for a free app like "ampere"where you can see how much current your mobiile gets from the charger. at least an approximate value so you can see the charger has the power it promises. i thought wattz has ist, but it doesn't maybe you would like to change that.
