wad2bin's Issues

Band hero title id for dlc

I was wondering if you know what the band hero title id would be, if not where I coukd find it? Searched google but could not find it, and the DLC supposedly works on guitar hero 5.

Converting DLC WAD for WiiWare game

I'm trying to convert a DLC WAD for a WiiWare game. I get error code -9 when trying to install to SD Card. Wad2bin says "A duplicate file name exists, or the file cannot be found.", but I do have the file in the wad2bin folder & I do not have a duplicate, unless it thinks the WAD for the game itself, which I already converted, is a duplicate.

Support CDN dumps.

Easy task, but I'll need time to implement it. I'm just creating this issue to remind myself that I have to do it.

WriteDataToFile: Failed to open ".\wad2bin_wad_data\cert.bin" in write mode! (2).

For some reason, I can't convert the DLC wad to a bin file, I get this error

Trying to convert DLC WAD

Hi,

I'm having a bit of an issue with the latest version of wad2bin.
I'm trying to convert dlc wads to bin.
If I add the title ID the tool does not start.
I tried both GUI & commandline.

any idea ?

Just Dance 2 Stuck

So I tried this method with Just Dance 2 and now its just stuck on "Refreshing the song list" and "Reading the SD Card" on a neverending loop. Anyone know a fix?

Custom RB2 gens sZGx and sZHx not supported

This is an inconvenience I've ran into a few times now. My guess is that these are arbitrarily being prevented from working because they're not official gens. I would suggest a way to bypass that check and convert the WAD anyway. This could make sharing of a couple of custom songs easier since people could use processes they're already familiar with, rather than figuring out how to pack the songs for real. (But since the number of slots is limited and everybody would use different slots for different songs, it can't really be used on a wider scale.)

[Feature Request] Reverse the process

We have wad2bin, which lets us put WADs from our PCs onto our SD cards in bin form, so why not have bin2wad, which lets us put bins from our SD cards into WAD form?

Rock Band 2 wad2bin process failed

Hi,

I'm trying to convert Rock Band 2 (Europe) WAD files taken from the Mariocube Repository into BIN files using wad2bin, but the process fails. I have had no issues previously when using wad2bin with the Mariocube Repository's Rock Band 3 (Europe) and Guitar Hero (Europe) WAD files, but I can't figure out what the problem is here.

An extract of the log is included below for reference. Please can you help with this issue? Am I doing something wrong, or could the WAD file be broken (and where else can I obtain RB2 WAD files if so)?

No DLC displayed when game is launched

Iโ€™m very new to this so I apologise if any of this is common knowledge or if Iโ€™ve left anything out that is important for accurate diagnosis

I have followed your guide and Iโ€™ve gotten as far as uninstalling and installing the bogus.wad, I get the 1022 error and Iโ€™ve ignored it like the guide suggests, however when I run guitar hero 5 off USB loader GX and go to the archive the SD states it has no songs to display

is there more information I can provide for further diagnosis?
And do you have any suggestions on what I can try to get it going?

I appreciate any feedback you can provide, thanks guys

wad2bin binary can't be found.

i have no clue what im doing wrong i have the keys file cert file wad dlc file and the dlc wad file dycrypt code but when i press start i get this!

Band Hero wads and DLC support

Thanks for wad2bin. It is awesome!
One question is if there is support for Band Hero DLC and what the Parent TID is for it?
I think they may be cross-compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour but not sure.
Thanks again for the hard work on this.

Hello,
Great app, and love the gui. However, I've long struggled to get Wad2Bin working.
currently it seems to freeze after showing this in the gui:

This version (0.6) has previously worked with an older laptop, so I'm a little baffled. However this is the same error i have recieved trying to use it on a newer laptop. This was using Rock Band WAD with title ID (00010000535A4150), but the error seems to happen with any DLC WAD. Incidentally, It does seem to work if I leave the Title ID blank.

The newer version (0.8) has consistently given the same error on both systems:

Wad2bin Error

I'm always getting the message "Paths must not exceed 259 characters" when trying to convert something. How do I fix this (I use a Windows 11 and a 128 SD card)?

It won't start?

Whenever I open the .py file, it just opens a black window, that immediately disappears. Same for the .exe file.

wad not found

i'm trying to install DLC for Just Dance 3 and i keep getting skipping errors and when i try to find WAD's in the private folder, i can't find one, hopefully there can be some sort of reasoning for this, thanks for reading this.

JD2014/2015 wads are successfully converted but cant see new songs inside the game?

I used the same method which worked for JD2,3&4. The game will have activity that loads from SD card and new songs would appear.

However the new DLC songs from the WAD is not showing for JD2014 and JD2015.

Is there anything else that I need to do?

EDIT: nevermind, found the DLC songs under archive, have to move them to wii memory in order to see/play.
