awesome-css's Issues

Validate pull requests with Travis

Hello, I wrote a tool that can validate README links (valid URLs, not duplicate). It can be run when someone submits a pull request.

It is currently being used by

Examples

If you are interested, connect this repo to https://travis-ci.org/ and add a .travis.yml file to the project.

Hey, should we set this image as our group icon?

Update `must-watch-css`

To adopt the more recent talks added to must-watch-css.

Side: I think it's strange that you're just replicating the content on that list here. Might as well just link up the other repo. That would make it more maintainable and from the user standpoint doesn't have any disadvantages.

Reset/Normalize: + unstyle.css?

I'd like to have 'unstyle.css'/'css-unstyle' added if OK.

Disclaimer: I am the creator. I do think this is unique and have always wanted something like this as a frontend developer.
Git Repo: https://github.com/Martin-Pitt/css-unstyle

Based on guidelines for contributing it does meet two requirements:
(c) absolutely unique in its approach and function
(d) a niche product that fills a gap

Granted however it is not:

  • widely discussed
  • known about
  • established as best practice (yet?)

Unlike reset/normalize which seek to remove or stabilise browser inconsistencies/styling, unstyle.css instead:

  • fights back against user agent styling opinions
  • unstyling elements down to barebones

However, it is not all-encompassing: I did skip 'input' unstyling as there are harsh browser limitations with css on those; Which would otherwise make unstyle.css too opinionated by itself, as the point is in removing the opinion of the user agent after all.

Thus the goal of unstyle.css:

  • remove user agent opinion
  • give you peace of mind as to how you can paint the canvas, so to speak

I have used it in many real world production projects and has served me well.
Critical feedback/critique is welcome.

Needed a discussions room

@sotayamashita @troxler We need a discussion platform like gitter.im room OR something like that.
So, that we can talk about awesome-css stuff and where we can ask our queries regarding it.
What do you people say?

Transfer ownership

I cannot manage this repository so I would like to transfer ownership. Does anybody want to do?

Add worth-reading CSS books

Apparently, Some people like reading books more than watching videos, So, I propose to add few names of good reference books for learning CSS as currently this particular aspect is missing in the Awesome CSS. 😊

Would csscontest.com make sense on the list?

What is this issue about?

Mark all the applicable options and give a brief description for each of them.

  • It a request to add a new feature/content.

I recently created https://github.com/bitsofart/contest, so a bit of self-promotion here πŸ™ˆ. I was wondering if it would fit the criteria of this list, probably on the miscellaneous topic. From my perspective, it matches both criteria C and D, but I'm naturally biased.

Help Wanted!

Recently, I do not have time to maintain. It has over 1.1k stars so I would like to keep up to dates for everyone who want to see the awesome list.

Does anybody want to maintain Awesome CSS?

The build links have stopped working, as they redirect to old repository.

This is not working

For new repo, it doesn't have org access.
new repo

I just added Code Sponsor to know how it works.

How does Code Sponsor work?

It will show ad on README and if user click the ad, I will get money from Code Sponsor.

Do you only get money????

This repository is built with great maintainers. So I will share the status once a month and I will share the revenue. πŸ’― , if you guys trust me πŸ™‡

What do you think? πŸ€”

  • updated: I am asking Code Sponsor. "Is there any API to get current status?" now
