What am i?

I am a little mod that wants to fix your game! Need a preview version of upcoming changes? Get it there: https://github.com/AndroidModLoader/JPatch/actions

Currently i can fix those things:

GTA:VC v1.09

Planned/TODO (not ready or broken now)

  • The fog is back (the water shader is broken???)
  • Pushing vehicles on a high FPS (just doesnt work.)
  • Fix fighting range
  • Probably, fix sprint speed?
  • Not sure, maybe timer-related bugs in save files

Since v1.7

  • FX particles draw distance scaler (default is x2.5)

Since v1.5.1

  • Bringing back a framelimiter (may be inaccurate)
  • Water texture scrolling speed fix on high FPS
  • Fixed incorrect physics target (fixes small physical glitches with the vehicles, but also probably creates some)

  • Allows the game to choose Extra6 component on a vehicle when created

    • Need to fix a framebuffer at the end of the rendering stage

Few more updates

Jpatch Dev's

  • I recomment to restore the idle camera from gta sa pc/ps2.
  • Two, that is to separate horn and hydraulics lift as button separately for lowrider cars
  • Remove crouching ability for few weapons in game for chainsaw, minigun, flamethrower, fire extinguisher because this didn't feel real and add a crosshair for flamethrower like in GTA SA pc
  • add icon and it's camera for unused ps2 pay s' spray in lv for improved main.scm users
  • lastly kindly add a crosshair for tank cannon like in other games like in PUBG and C. O. D pls for a better shooting

Improve gangster AI

AI of recruited gangster needs improved that if a gangster runs of ammo on a weapon depending on progress of the story he switch to another weapon example: if someone fired tec9 and runs out he must to pistol and to bat if emptied again. If I completed 100 sprays and recruited a gangster with knife for a drive by he must take out a fire arm respectively (MP5, desert eagle, pistol) and shoot on car only if there is less than two rival members upon exiting.

Improve the interaction among rival gangs respectively
Since they won't attack until a shot is fired by the player or someone. This 100% need repairing.

Stunt smoke?

I'm working on DE now, and I found that in DE Mobile, Stuntplane's smoke has been fixed. And it used HornJustDown() .

In SA 2.00, HornJustDown checks your vehicle's type and it doen't allow helicopters and planes. We can hook this thing and allows Polmav, Stuntplane and Cropduster.
Besides, CPlane::ProcessControl called CHID::IsReleased which is unavalible on touch screen. Just Redirect it to HornJustDown, and everything is okey.

FixEmergencyVehicles causing fps drop in some places

If FixEmergencyVehicles is enabled then the game start lagging in several places when draw distance(vanilla) in display settings are set in max. One of the example is around grove street bridge connected in cluckin bell in east los santos, cuz there is flickering texture there when this config is disabled there's no FPS drop and the flickering texture i mentioned is no longer flicker

repair few mechanics in game

As in GTA VC mobile we can leave a car door open while exiting and Tommy can dodge jump when a car is approaching him fast but in GTA SA both r broken
The game can't sense the danger that that cj is about to get run over by a vehicle approaching I guess that.
Can the classic weapon don't render thru glass can be fixed?

Is it somehow possible to fix sharp, wall-like draw distance cutoff due to less dense distant fog?

Hello, as you probably know, this is one of the most jarring issues of the mobile version – this sharp, wall-like draw distance cutoff due to less dense distant fog (it's even more noticeable during the foggy weather since it greatly decreases draw distance), where as original PS2/PC versions masked that draw distance boundary much more effective with thicker fog

Would be really great if it would be possible to somehow fix this issue and bring original behavior back through JPatch in the future

Unfortunately, as workaround, when trying to increase draw distance/streaming distance a bit through libdrawdistance.so, higher values often cause flickering in a game world, especially when looking down and when falling from some high place (even at the values like 2.00)

Hello,
After installing your patch, exclusive cheat codes for the mobile version of GTA SA stopped working.

GONPXWR — Complete invulnerability of the player and vehicle.
BIEUHQY — Weapons, tier 4 (Minigun, Vibrator, Random: Night Vision Goggles or Thermal Vision Goggles)
YACKMWS — Advance 4 hours
BYIXZIY — Complete the current mission
KRRIHBT — Forces all controls to appear on your smartphone screen.
AFJKBNRP — Highest gambler level.
JQFUDUB — To display life, armour, and pedestrian dialogues.
Can you find out what combination these codes changed to in your patch?

Restore broken features(forgotten features)

1)can we again use the countermeasures in hydra (make sure no one forgets that)
2) dodge jump and defence from melee attacks is also a very again forgotten feature this will be useful on gameplay. it can be added by placing a new button in the screen
Usage of the button can be like holding it will make cj to defend attacks and double tapping it would trigger dodge jump in the direction according to the direction of the joystick

[Feature] Any solution for a working frame limiter in GTA Vice City Mobile

Hello, it's really great that you started working on JPatch for VC, too. Thank you, it's already great. It would be really neat if you could bring a working FPS limiter to GTA Vice City in future updates of JPatch (or through separate script like MoreSettings)

On the Mobile port of GTA Vice City "Frame Limiter" setting has no effect on FPS – game's still has unlocked FPS (Probably the same in GTA 3 port)

As you probably know, It causes several critical bugs making the game in it's current state and on a modern phones almost unplayable – bugs like physics issues, traffic bugs and in particular you gonna run into Unique Stunt Jump freezing bug much earlier in your savefile and it looks like there's no way to cure Android savefile, unlike PC one (at least through GTA Save'n'Play website and savefile editor for VC). It's a bug that basically permits you from 100% the game if you didn't complete all USJ early enough in your save game

Polmav lights

Add polmav search lights to activate again like ps2 version.
Fix radio anim in water vehicles.

Things to do

  1. Allow turn searchlights on polmav and smokes on stuntplane and cropduster.
  2. Some SCM fixes, such as using rancher lure variants during Lure missions, fixing appointments with Michelle, skipping cutsences during some missions (especially Air Raid).
  3. Leave the vehicle without closing the door, just like on the PC, with the joystick.
  4. Switch flying mode on hydra by button.
  5. Fix parachute landing animation and restore detonator using animation.
  6. Add RepairGTA mod.
  7. Add 0DD2FixAsm_call fix.
  8. From MixSets: crouch with any weapon (such as camera and grenade).

These recommendations are very important and do have practical implications.

A few improvements

  1. can the airport antennas in san Andreas airports can rotate like in vice City airport
  2. animated parts in few vehicles (eg: sweeper 's brushes, phoenix hoop cap, newsvan antenna, etc...) can brought back like in silent patch for pc
  3. hunter's interior is disappearing when seen thru glass it is again a old pc bug

FixIsCharDead0HP breaks scripts

If this feature is enabled, then after loading save with this feature at least home_brains become broken(not working) and I assume that a lot of other regular scripts and mission scripts are become broken too, cuz alot of scripts uses this opcode. Also there may be cleo scripts that make use of this opcode, so I'm assume that they are may become broken(not working) too after save is loaded with this feature enabled.
