Not sure how ranged calculations work about foundry-ex3 HOT 5 CLOSED

The weapon sheet under the bonuses says "Use Short for ranged weapon accuracy", so you want to put 5 in the accuracy box.

The dice roller will add or subtract from the weapon attack assuming you inputted the bonus for "Short" into the sheet.

So for example using an attack at medium range. You normally get +5 but now get +3 so the dice roller will subtract 2 dice to represent that.

If you click on the icon next to the item name you can add the "Artifact" tag to the weapon. Then go to the effects/other tab of the sheet and set the Type. It should auto set the accuracy/damage.

Oh okay, that's what you meant by use short range for accuracy. I thought that meant that you had to set the range modifier to short range, for your accuracy roll, which had me so confused. I also didn't know about the artifact tag having actual measured effects. Do all the weapon tags actually respond accordingly to their description in the manual? I thought the flags were only listed for fun and we still had to do all the work manually to when and where they apply?

Some tags are automated. The roll details will tell you what tags add a bonus. Tags like smashing will enable special attacks in the "add charms" button
