openfind's Introduction

OpenFind

An app to find text in real life. Released in the public domain.

  • Download on the App Store.
  • Find in real-time using the camera.
  • Create lists of allergies and find unwanted ingredients instantly.
  • Search your entire photo library in split seconds.
  • Organize photos with stars.
  • Look for multiple terms at the same time.
  • Runs 100% offline. No servers, nothing weird going on.
  • Tons of customizable settings.
  • Supports VoiceOver.

App preview

OpenFind (formerly Find) is my first app — I've been working on it for the past 3 years to learn Swift. You can view its entire history (1600+ commits!) here.

I hope you can find some use out of this, whether it's from looking at the code, or just using it to find stuff. The app should build right out of the box, or you can download it on the App Store.

openfind's Issues

Suggestion: Multi-List Scans

I really like that we can out together our own lists, and that the color of the indicator changes depending on the color of the list.
I think it'd be pretty cool if you could search using two or more lists at the same time, using the color from each list respectively.

Hope this feedback is helpful.
Keep up the good work, and have a wonderful day!!!

Main and Zoom camera won't work(iPhone)

For some reason the Main camera and Zoom camera show frozen, or messed up frames.
The only camera I can use is the Ultra Wide, which requires you to get almost too close for the that camera to focus.

Android Support

Is there a timeline for Android support? (If you even plan to include it)

I'm assuming it must take a rewrite in Java/Kotlin to have that happen unfortunately
