Add custom Composite Palette file (.tgp) support

Ask a question

Add for a means to load custom composite Palette files, in the MiSTer .tgp format, so the user can add in some other ones besides the default.

Custom Palettes can be created with the tool in this repo:
https://github.com/Kitrinx/TG16_Palette

If there is interest I can provide a sample custom palette to test with as well that mimics the appearance of a TG16 connected over RF to a CRT!

VDW > 244 drawing issues (Madou Kind Granzort)

Version (or build number)

0.3.0

Steps to reproduce

Any game that uses VDW > 244 is pushed down and draws garbage lines at the top of the screen. This can be easily reproduced using Screen Dimension Test

This is seen in the SGX game Madou Kind Granzort, where the first few drawn lines are slightly offset, and the entire screen is pushed down ~20 pixels.

Expected Behavior

No response

Actual Behavior

Extra garbage from the scaler is displayed at the top of the screen, and the video is pushed down ~20 pixels.

Order of the Griffon incorrectly sized bottom half

The bottom half of Order of the Griffon (the display of your party) is shrunk to half horizontal size. This is due to the PCE changing resolution mid frame when it gets to the bottom half, which is not handled as we're using the APF scaler to resize our video based on the horizontal width.

Samurai Ghost display issues

Version (or build number)

0.1.1

Steps to reproduce

-Start the game
-Start moving horizontally

Expected Behavior

No response

Actual Behavior

the screen rapidly flashes black as I move, and sometimes the screen resolution changes.

It's hard to capture the resolution changes on video because it happens so quickly, but I'll send a link to a short video I took of the issue

Allow for user defined Overscan Support

Ask a question

Somehow allow for (user defined)overscan support for all sides of the screen so user can map back to their favorite era- appropriate display!

Aldynes (on SuperGrafx) crashes during the DEMO/Intro sequence

Version (or build number)

0.3.0

Steps to reproduce

Aldynes (on SuperGrafx) crashes during the DEMO/Intro sequence

Just let the demo run (without pressing run/start) and eventually (early in the demo) the game will crash.

Expected Behavior

The game shouldn't crash

Actual Behavior

The game crashes early in the demo/attract gameplay.

Additional Context

The game doesn't crash on the TG16 MiSTer core or real hardware.

Missing ~3 pixels on right side

Some games such as Neutopia make it clear that there are ~3 pixels missing from the right side of the screen. You can see that the "TM" on the title screen is cut off.

After a lot of debugging, I cannot figure out what is cutting off the pixels. It seems to be happening within the video module itself.

Turbo buttons

Add the ability to set X and Y as turbo buttons, with configurable speed.

Atlantean High Score saving unavailable

When launching Atlantean, the first screen shows the following message:

255 255

FAILED TO CREATE HIGH SCORE FILE
POSSIBLE BRAM FORMAT REQUIRED!

NO HIGH SCORES WILL BE SAVED!

PRESS RUN TO PLAY ATLANTEAN!

As far as I can tell there is no other impact, happy to provide any further info

512x240 mode on Monoscope pattern in 240P Test Suite 1.12 only draws 60% of the screen

Version (or build number)

0.1.1

Steps to reproduce

  1. Download 240P Test Suite .pce file from here: https://artemiourbina.itch.io/240p-test-suite
  2. Launch Core
  3. Load 240P Test Suite rom
  4. Enter Test Patterns
  5. Scroll down to Monoscope pattern and press the right most button to launch.

Note how only 60% of the screen is used and the pattern is compressed within that area.

Expected Behavior

The Monoscope pattern should fill the entire screen, when Overscan is disabled of course.

Actual Behavior

Only 60% of the screen is used and the Monoscope pattern is horizontally compressed to fit within that area.

If you were using another test pattern (such as the "Grids" pattern) at 512x240 before selecting the Monoscope pattern, the previous pattern will flicker in the empty space on the right of the screen.

Additional Context

Great release, super happy to see this on the Pocket!

Repo Title Says "SNES for the Analogue Pocket"

Ask a question

Hi there,

This didn't feel right to report as a "bug".

Here on GitHub, the repo is named "SNES for the Analogue Pocket". For findability reasons, it should probably be PC Engine or TurboGrafx. I swear I'm trying to find a way not to sound sarcastic as I type this, haha. <3 <3

Battle Royale

Version (or build number)

0.1.1

Steps to reproduce

Run Battle Royale (USA)

Expected Behavior

No response

Actual Behavior

Battle Royale (USA) displays only in the left half of the screen. Looks like it's just squished to that side, like the resolution is twice as wide as the actual game's output.

0.3

Steps to reproduce

Load new game
Walk into almost any of the early NPC buildings
Bottom of screen shows purple line

Expected Behavior

No response

Actual Behavior

Loaded Neutopia on the most recent version of the core. Particularly when entering certain buildings a purple line appears on the bottom of the screen, maybe an overscan issue?

Button II Turbo resets value when quitting the core.

Version (or build number)

0.2.0

Steps to reproduce

No response

Expected Behavior

No response

Actual Behavior

Button II Turbo resets set value when quitting the core.
I set the value to 2 (Max), and it resets back to 0 every time I turn off the Pocket, or quit the core.

Button I Turbo works as expected, and retains the set value after quitting and restarting the core.
