This application implements the command-not-found spec at:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CommandNotFoundMagic

If you want automatic prompts to install the package, set
COMMAND_NOT_FOUND_INSTALL_PROMPT in your environment.

To use it in bash, please add the following line to your .bashrc file:
. /etc/bash_command_not_found

To use it in zsh, please add the following line to your .zshrc file:
. /etc/zsh_command_not_found
Note that it overrides the preexec and precmd functions, in case you have
defined your own.

bugs on launchpad.net/command-not-found need gardening

There is a lot of bugs on https://bugs.launchpad.net/command-not-found (the upstream project) and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/command-not-found (the package in ubuntu).

All those bugs should be reviewed, marked as duplicate when needed and collapsed into few bugs that capture the essential problems people are currently facing. Each such bug should have a reference to an issue on github.

Bugs that don't relate to the endless crashes should be left as-is for the time being.
