Photon

Photon is a lightweight multi-threaded downloader based on aria2. It supports HTTP/HTTPS, Magnet links, BitTorrent and Metalink.

Photon is cross platform. It has macOS and Windows releases now and will have Linux release soon.

For Web frontend of aria2, please have a look at Photon WebUI.

Extensions

Since Photon uses aria2 as download core, all of the extensions that support aria2 via RPC are also Photon compatible.

The default RPC configuration for Photon and aria2:

URL: http://127.0.0.1:6800/jsonrpc
Host: 127.0.0.1
Port: 6800

WebExtension Addon

It is used to transfer links & cookies from browser, since WebExtension is used in both Firefox & Chrome.

Notification related feature request

Please also add a tray icon whenever the app is closed so that one doesn't have to start it again.

An option in the settings to choose what to do when the user closes the app(minimize to tray or quit)
Bring the app's window into focus whenever a download is added(can be toggled from the settings)
Notifications via the tray icon whenever the download is complete

check for update. GitHub can provide a fixed URL: https://github.com/alanzhangzm/Photon/release/latest/Photon.exe.
- it would be better to have silent installation during update
- alternatively post to Microsoft Store, which requires a small one-time fee for open-source project.
play sound on completion
- better if we can set customized audio file

一个是稍微等一下的意思。一个是等下再来做的意思，还是有区别的。

Conflicts with an existing aria2 instance

Conflicts with an existing aria2 instance, please stop the instance and reopen the app.

I met this error after force quitted the app, don't know where to kill the instance it mentioned. Reinstallation did not help.

开发者您好，首先很感谢您开发的Photon，我觉得使用起来很方便，但是在使用过程中有几点感觉不是很顺畅，所以想反馈一下意见，仅供后续开发参考。
1、建议增加初次安装启动后的设置下载文件夹操作引导，该软件现在的情况是默认没有设置就放在系统的“下载”文件夹内。不清楚的人可能初次下载文件后找不到下载存放位置。
2、建议下载好的任务列表可以右键选择打开下载文件夹。
3、增加重复的下载任务检测，目前同一个链接我在这个软件可以多次提交任务，我觉得这个可能不合适。（虽然文件没有多次重复下载）
4、希望能增加一个删除任务并删除文件的功能，aria2原版没有提供这个功能，很久以前我也跟aria2原作者反馈过。他认为这是一个下载工具不应该有的功能。。。。
因此那些基于aria2的控制面板都没有删除文件的功能。我唯一知道基于aria2并且有删除任务同时删除文件功能的软件是UGET。
以上几点是目前使用的个人建议，再次感谢您开发的软件。
