Pros:

• We'll get rid of obsolete newsboat213 package, because newer versions requires rust and all the hell.
• Less dependencies:

  • $ finddeps-linked snownews | xargs
    curl glibc libxml2 ncurses openssl xz zlib zstd

  • $ finddeps-linked newsboat213 | xargs
    curl gcc glibc json-c libxml2 ncurses openssl sqlite3 stfl xz zlib zstd

  At least, by replacing newsboat we'll get rid of obsolete stfl package.

Cons:

• There are the problems while obtaining github's commit feeds.
  • Conform this link by default, timeline resources are returned in JSON. We can specify snownews links as exec:curl -H 'Accept: application/atom+xml' <github-url> ... to fix this.
  • Done.
• Less features.

Requires:

• add snownews package
• update pkgsrcfeeds repo to use snownews instead of newsboat213
• mark newsboat213 and stfl as unmaintained
• remove them after some time

Currently, the qt5 package's footprint is hard to reproduce due to various optional dependencies that qt5 picks up during the build. For example, the current footprint contains libsdl2 artifacts, the package that isn't available in the pkgsrc tree.

The best solution is to provide "enable/disable" build options for various dependencies and select the sane ones by default. It's hard to say how accessible/easy to implement is that.
