android-camera-preview's Issues

HDMI out landscape/portrait

Hi! I am a total noob on Android. I built the APK and launched it on my Galaxy Note10+ which has a USB-C/HDMI out feature. I intended to use this app which does not have any UI whatsoever to have it show whatever the camera captures filling the screen via HDMI out, and then have it recorded via a HDMI capture card.

It works but I'd appreciate guidance if you can in these 3 points (in order of importance):

  1. When the app is launched, the HDMI signal is forced in portrait mode even if the phone is in landscape mode (which is what I intend to use). Is there a way to change this?

  2. The 3 Android UI buttons are still shown at the bottom of the screen. Other apps such as Netflix hide them while you are watching videos. Is there a way to tell Android: "Please hide the 3 buttons"

  3. There's some unused space at the sides of the screen. I guess is b/c the A/R of the screen differs from the AR of the sensor. Is there a way to zoom it so that all the screen real estate is completely used?

Thanks!

Preview is streched

I've installed the app on multiple Samsung devices(SM-T395, SM-T585...). On all of them the camera preview is streched. How to calculate the preview correct or is this a device specific Problem?
On emulators all seems fine.
