in hw1/pwords.c line74:
targs_t *targs = (targs_t *)malloc(sizeof(targs_t));

I think this might cause memory leakage for not freeing the memory after malloc (though most OS will do the clean when program exit)

I think you can:

1. allocate the memory on stack by using array of struct
   or
2. keep track of the pointer and do free after thread exit
