mutter's Issues

Workspaces - shows blurred windows from other workspace(s)

I think this bug may have just been introduced. but when switching workspaces, there is blurred windows from the previous workspace.

i think this may have been introduced with the fixing of blurred windows on new windows, not positive though.

Heads up: mutter-rounded breaks on commit(s) from Jan 5th

Hey,

Just a heads up that mutter-rounded will break on commit: 8a2fcf3

Just thought I would point out the specifc commit, as you may not get to it until Fedora releases mutter 42.x and this way you already know the exact commit where it breaks without having to look for it.

New windows: Blur vs. Animation transition ordering on new windows

Hey @yilozt

So i've been tinkering aorund with the blur code and while i was able to fix most of the blur artifacts in my previous patch -- I'm having trouble getting the blur on new windows to appear AFTER the open effect is complete...

I'm not sure exactly what the problem is -- i was wondering if you could have a look? the easiest way to demonstrate the issue; install the 'Impatience' gnome extension, set the animation speed to the slowest (2sec), then open a new app window... you will see it paints the blur first, which isn't what we want -- the blur shouldn't be painted until after the effect is complete and the window is fully drawn on the screen.

I thought a similar bit of code would work like i did for the unminimize case, but for whatever reason, it didn't seem to work. I was hoping you might see if you are able to fix it? you likely understand the code a bit better.

thx

Make the border colour configurable

Hi,

I think the grey border colour could be configurable. The current value (0.65 white) looks fine in light themes, but looks too bright on the dark themes. A value of 0.35 looks better for dark themes. So I thought about making it configurable within the range of white to black.

So I did play around with your mutter-rounded patch and added a border-brightness key to configure the border colour. It simply changes the border colour in src/shader.h file. Here's my commit waimus@e5d9671.

If you like it, I will be making a PR here.

I have considered making it configurable to input colours (i.e. hex code colours), but I think a colourful border is a bit too wild. So I only did this so far.

Thank you.
