A working demo instance for channels1 version is available at the following address:

Demo accounts:

• guest1/guest1
• guest2/guest2

In the screenshot below, a typical situation is shown:

• two users are accessing the service
• one user is editing a document

Everything works as expected:

• the users counter says: 2 (correct)
• the document status moved from "free" to "write" (correct)

I just changed the background color to differentiate the two instances.

In the very same situation, while the users counter is OK, no "write flag" is ever triggered:

This behaviour can be reproduced in a local development instance with runserver.

Thank you for sharing this example.
Just wondering ... being an example project, it's targeted to beginners.
But what's the point in learning the legacy Channels 1 today, given that Channels 2 is a major rewrite ?
