Not knowing exactly how Perl gets the localtime, on the Raspbian distribution I'm testing the script out on, I noticed that the "Last Seen" timestamps written by --dumpfile are all recorded based on a clock that starts at unix epoch when the script is run. If I restart the script, it starts back at epoch again despite the system time and timezone being already set and up to date.

If I figure this out I'll send back my findings.

I don't know how to offer suggestions, so I'll mention here that it would be nice if the --dumpfile could also include signal strength.

BTW, very nice script!

Doesn't seem to like sudo or even sudo su (so I am root)

Apparently a better option is
($> ne 0) && die "$0 must be run by root!\n";

nice code, please add tiny bit of code, because the time did not come out right , add (); in line 181

my ($sec,$min,$hour,$mday,$mon,$year,$wday,$yday,$isdst) = localtime();($detectedSSID{$key}[2]);

i also got this lua error --

cd /usr/share/wireshark , nano init.lua , and comment out the

dofile = function() error("dofile has been disabled") end

to

-- dofile = function() error("dofile has been disabled") end

dont know if its the right way, but that gets rid of the error.
