Hello from 🇬🇷 Greece!

I am:

  • Knowledgeable in a variety of languages, including but not limited to: C, C++, Haskell, C#, LaTeX, and Python. Favourite language is C++.
  • Math enthusiast; Knowledgeable in physics.
  • Interested in low level, parallel and functional programming, in GPU programming, in computer graphics, numerical analysis and more.
  • Professionally unprofessional.
  • Also known as Mantis.

I mostly use C/C++, Haskell and Python for either my personal projects or projects related to my field of studies. My environment of choice is Windows (11), but I also know my way around Linux.

Validation error for device extensions in Release Mode (Visual Studio)

Vulkan will issue a validation error when initializing a device. Specifically, the initialization error is about passing too big or badly formed extension names. This means that the Release version of dragonfly isn't able to render on-screen. The reason why this happen is not known yet.

This does not appear in Visual Studio's Debug Mode, only Release Mode. It's unknown -yet- if this is just for Visual Studio Release Mode or applies to other building tools' Release Modes. In the future, when multiple build methods are available, this will be checked.

Currently, the issue is not highly prioritized, as the Debug version of Dragonfly behaves fine. Albeit this is not ideal, it, at least, means that the library itself can be used.
