Via system calls, all is well:

ls -l foo
-rwxrwxrwx 1 gboggs staff 0 Feb 13 13:38 foo
chmod o-w foo
ls -l foo
-rwxrwxr-x 1 gboggs staff 0 Feb 13 13:38 foo

But with File::chmod, the group write bit is also removed for the same command:

ls -l foo
-rwxrwxrwx 1 gboggs staff 0 Feb 13 13:38 foo
perl -MFile::chmod -e'chmod "o-w", shift' foo
ls -l foo
-rwxr-xr-x 1 gboggs staff 0 Feb 13 13:38 foo

Please consider specifying what spell checker the author test "author-pod-spell.t" should use. The test fails in my system because the default word list for "spell" (which is the default program used by Test::Spelling) doesn't recognize about half a dozen words in the Pod. I re-ran the tests with this...

spell_cmd = aspell list
stopwords = chmods
stopwords = chmodding

...in dist.ini, and it passed.
