We invite you to join the Xamarin Evolve 2016 Mini-Hacks challenge: a fast, easy, and fun way to explore native mobile development with Xamarin. Each mini-hack consists of a small programming challenge involving a specific set of APIs or a particular third-party programming framework.

Mini-hacks are designed to stimulate developers of all skill levels—each challenge comes with step-by-step instructions to guide you if you get stuck. You can find all of the challenges in this GitHub repository.

To get started, click one of the mini-hack folders above and attempt to complete the challenge that is described in the included README file.

mini-hacks's Issues

TwilioIPMessagingClient does not contain a definition for Create

Hi,
I followed the tutorial, but I'm getting the following error:
TwilioMiniHack.iOS/ViewController.cs(37,37): Error CS0117: Twilio.IPMessaging.TwilioIPMessagingClient' does not contain a definition for Create'.

Is it possible that the SDK changed?

Thanks,
Julian

broken link

I'm trying to run an apk on test cloud. None of the documentation explains how to correctly pass the apk for the test cloud to locate it. I was hoping the mini hacks would have something.

System.Exception : Failed to execute: /Users/xamarin/android/adt-bundle-mac-x86_64-20131030/sdk_leg/build-tools/19.0.2/aapt list "/Volumes/Data/my.apk" - exit code: 1 ERROR: '/Volumes/Data/my.apk' not found

amqp:connection:forced on SendAsync

Hello. I am trying to get your solution to work as it's exactly what I've been looking for as a guide! I have everything filled in with my IoT Hub and advice settings (I believe correctly) and I keep getting a "amqp:connection:forced" error message when the app tries to send the message to the device. Any ideas? I've done some searching but come up empty handed.

Thanks in advance,
Jarrod

iBeacons

In the post from Xamarin Blog there's an article about iBeacons, which reference multiple times to this repo.
But apparently that branch has been removed as it creates 404's.

Is it possible to restore that branch or update that article with another branch?

Transport failed processing the message received (error = 394)

Hello , I am trying to send message from SmartCoffee app (android) and receive it on Raspberry Pi using 'azure-iot-sdk-python'.
Call to SendMessageToDevice function is successful (no exception message on output windows also) but the receiver throws error in C Code.

Error: Time:Sat Feb 18 09:33:03 2017 File:/home/pi/azure-iot-sdk-python/c/iothub_client/src/iothubtransport_amqp_common.c Func:on_message_received Line:342 Transport failed processing the message received (error = 394).

Source File : https://github.com/Azure/azure-iot-sdk-c/blob/master/iothub_client/src/iothubtransport_amqp_common.c

Receiver on Raspberry Pi is working perfectly when message sent using DeviceExplorer tool.
Have tried to change the message encoding from UTF8 to ASCII (as done in DeviceExplorer) without success.

Could you please help me in resolving the issue.

Thanks in advance.
