Any chance/plans moving the builds to Gradle?

We found it to be much easier and less error prone than Maven (but still compatible).

It would be quite useful to be able to filter variables when generating the site. For instance, if I put a ${project.version} in one of my files, I would like to see it replace by my actual project version.

Right now, I need to use the resource plugin over the site first and then xsite. It works but is a bit of a hack.

Is there a way to disable the CharacterEscaper functionality from the config (so without rebuilding the software) ?

It seems to act independent of the file encoding - even on utf-8 HTML files, thus rendering them useless (for l10 sites that were working with XSite < 1.3)

for XSite there seems to be this repository https://github.com/x-stream/xsite but also https://github.com/codehaus/xsite-git and also https://github.com/codehaus/xsite (this one seems to have different IDs for same transactions)

Which one to use, fork, send PRs/issues to?
