learning-solidity's Issues

Code from tutorial 5 not working

I tried running the code from tutorial 5 on remix.etherum.org
and I get the following error

    VM error: revert.
    revert	The transaction has been reverted to the initial state.
    Note: The constructor should be payable if you send value.	Debug the transaction to get
    more information.

Documenting Smart Contracts

Hi,

The repo seems great. The initiative to lead in teaching solidity fantastic. Smart contracts well developed.
I noticed that the smart contracts are not documented or say well commented, also the require statements are missing reason strings.

I am interested in taking this up and adding all the required missing parts.
Waiting for a go-ahead from the maintainers.

Thanks,
Balaji

tutorial-04: always get 0 result

I get 0 values for all the 4 functions.

Here are my files. Anyone knows the problem?

browser/library.sol

pragma solidity ^0.4.0;

library IntExtended {

    function increment(uint _self) public pure returns (uint) {
        return _self+1;
    }

    function decrement(uint _self) public pure returns (uint) {
        return _self-1;
    }

    function incrementByValue(uint _self, uint _value) public pure returns (uint) {
        return _self + _value;
    }

    function decrementByValue(uint _self, uint _value) public pure returns (uint) {
        return _self - _value;
    }
}

browser/testLibrary.sol

pragma solidity ^0.4.0;

import "browser/library.sol";

contract TestLibrary {
    using IntExtended for uint;

    function testIncrement(uint _base) public pure returns (uint) {
        return IntExtended.increment(_base);
    }

    function testDecrement(uint _base) public pure returns (uint) {
        return IntExtended.decrement(_base);
    }

    function testIncrementByValue(uint _base, uint _value) public pure returns (uint) {
        return _base.incrementByValue(_value);
    }

    function testDecrementByValue(uint _base, uint _value) public pure returns (uint) {
        return _base.decrementByValue(_value);
    }
}

tutorial 4

The code is not compiling? It says "browser/library.sol" not found. How do i resolve this issue?

TUTORIAL 09 MyToken.sol

function "approve" shuoldn't be something like this?

`function approve(address _spender, uint _value) public returns (bool success) {

    if (_value > 0 && __balanceOf[msg.sender] >= _value) {
    __allowances[msg.sender][_spender] = _value;
    return true;
    }
    return false;
}`

line 49, file MyToken.sol
thanks! =)

tutorial-01 issue

I tried to run the contract but was unable to get name and age by calling functions getName() and getAge(). Then I modified get functions the following way and it works fine:

function getName() public view returns (string) {
        return name;
    }
function getAge() public view returns (uint) {
        return age;
    }
