reprap-wallace's Issues

X-Ends could do with stoppers to reduce flex when assembling.

When testing the X-ends to see if they clamp a bearing correctly as this picture shows
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BxdtCpMizDnCWUF2VWlicDktams
With two bolts to simulate rods
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BxdtCpMizDnCLVNzc242N0Rrb3M
If its tightened too much then it spits in an odd place
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BxdtCpMizDnCRHFWSVp5Y3htd2c

I suggest a small stopper inbetween the two rods just enough so that it can flex down to clamp the rods.
The stopper could stop further flex on the bolt side, forcing the bearing and the nut hole to contract instead, securing the nut and the bearing.

The pictures are for a visual assembly guide I'm putting together.
I'll re-print it and wedge it with some sellotape for now.

compil and render only render bed

when I hit F6, in openscad, it only render the bed I have to hit F5 to have the all machine, but I was wanted to export the machine in stl, is there a way to do it ? or did I miss something?

Directory structure

Hi,

Is it possible to use a directory structure like https://github.com/prusajr/PrusaMendel to help keep the project organized?
I would propose:

source (all source files, openscad, etc needed to build the project STLs).
/inc (any include files, extra stls, etc.)

docs (for locating ThingDoc files and output / other documentation)
/images (images for ThingDoc and build photos)

metric-wallace-lm6uu (directory contains final STL files needed to print out)

Just a suggestion :)
Cheers.

Warning

WARNING: Can't open import file `/Applications/gregs/gregs_accessible_wade-wildseyed_mount.stl'.

Not sure it matters, but just in case.

Split up OpenSCAD script into modules

Howdy!

Would you be interested in splitting up your monolithic script into separate parts?
I'm keen to do this and add ThingDoc support. At this early stage would rather see this in the canonical version, rather just forking it...

Happy to help / discuss :)
Andrew

License?

I'm guessing you are releasing your work under GPL?...
This has been the preference for RepRap ... personally it would be awesome if you adopted LGPL, which I think is a much better fit to OSHW.

Either way, could you please add a license note as a readme/ in the openscad scripts, etc. just for clarity.

Cheers.
