Hey all, one thing we noticed here at Fairphone: the package name of the app can not be the same as the original package for two reasons:

• it will cause a conflict with the signature of our version of the app and the installation might fail.
• people might get confused about the creator of these apps. So referencing Fairphone as the origin of this code is fine, but it should be clear it is a community (WeAreFairphone) project now.

It has already caused troubles:

Steps to follow:

• Remove WeAreFairphone apps with com.fairphone package namespace from F-Droid:
  • Release new virtual versions with a What's New section for each app
  • Disable current apps (docs)
• Change package's namespace and resubmit them on F-Droid (metadata)

Would it be possible, please, to offer a widget that lists most recently added contacts and most recently edited contacts?

proguardFiles getDefaultProguardFile('proguard-android.txt'), 'proguard-rules.txt' specifies files with he proguard settings, butt those are not present in this repo. Simply touching them solves the error (while not being the intended use..).

My addressbook has reached a size where searching by name is not anymore that helpful because i do not every time know that person that well and also sometimes I have contacts with the same name.

It would be great, if the size of the widget would be adjustable not only in the height but also in width.

I installed this via F-Droid on a Nougat 7.0 device. F-Droid shows me a successful installation.

I use the FP2-Launcher (also installed via F-Droid), but I cannot add the ContactsWidget, because it does not show up in the widget screen. (But it shows up in Lawnchair.)

Any ideas how to add it? Is this a bug?

I suggest to add support for other forms of contacts like Messengers Conversations or Telegram. With an Option ro select whether those shall be shown or not...

While I guess you start from 1.0 again after outsourcing this app, the tag says 1.0.1, but androids own version (as specified in the AndroidManifest.xml) is 2.1 -- I think in the future you should bump your tags to the same 2.x version scheme.
