ece-data_scientist's Issues

Sandbox jobTracker

I'm posting my issue here because I think it might concern every people working with the Hortonworks Sandbox and it could help.

It's been a few days now that my Oozie workflow is ready but I still can't manage to get it work on the sandbox. I had to do quite a few tricks to go there already:

First error: [User: oozie is not allowed to impersonate hue] (or root) and running the job as the oozie user didn't help either, but anyway, I dealt with it by editing the core-site.xml.

Then, I had troubles with the nameNode and jobTracker properties from my job.properties file. I've been digging and digging, and after trying several addresses and ports (not much infos about that in the docs but I telnet them), it occurs that the correct value for nameNode is sandbox:8020 and not hdfs://localhost:8020 or hdfs://sandbox:8020 as we can see everywhere on the Internet and the oozie examples (which, needless to say, don't run on the sandbox for all the reasons in this issue).

Still, I am now having issues with the jobTracker property. I have a Java error telling my it can't connect to localhost:8021, sandbox:8021 or sandbox:50030 or any of the values we can see here or here.

Now, could you give us the ports where the jobTracker is running or do you see any steps that I might have missed? It begins to be a big waste of time for me and I doubt the goal of this exercise is to deal with such an amount of issues.

Thank you,
