vl.devices.decklink's Introduction

VL.Devices.DeckLink

A package for using DeckLink capture cards by Blackmagic Design in VL.

Try it with vvvv, the visual live-programming environment for .NET
Download: http://visualprogramming.net

Requirements:

Using the library

In order to use this library with VL you have to install the nuget that is available via nuget.org. For information on how to use nugets with VL, see Managing Nugets in the VL documentation. As described there you go to the commandline and then type:

nuget install VL.Devices.DeckLink -pre

Once the VL.Devices.DeckLink nuget is installed and referenced in your VL document you'll see the category "DeckLink" under "Devices" in the nodebrowser.

Demos are available via the Help Browser!

vl.devices.decklink's Issues

Hard crash when first testing it

I just added VL.Devices.Decklink (nuget was already installed) to the document dependencies, then created a VideoIn and finally created an IOBox for the Device Enum ...
VL froze and ultimately crashed hard.
This is what I found in the windows event log:

grafik

Add different wait for frame behaviour (discard/repeat)

Right now vvvv is automatically running at 30fps if the capturing camera was delivering 30fps ....

Another wild guess would also be, that vvvv doesn't discard frames yet if the camera would capture at a higher fps than vvvv is currently running at. There should be a setting to discard excess incoming frames instead of buffering them

Check for Device Availability

The node itself should do a check internally, or we need another node for the hardware check to wrap VideoIn in an IF-Region ..
