Thanks for the great community contribution. It is super to find examples in lua for things I need!

I've had some trouble getting your library to connect with GMail or other servers over SSL. Even if I wrap the socket myself and skip the forced STARTTLS call IMAP:_receive seems to fail when it should not.

This library is successful at connecting and communicating : https://github.com/dmj/misc/blob/master/lua/imap.lua/imap.lua but obviously is missing the communication infrastructure of yours. I'm thinking of combining the bits from both that work but would obviously like to contribute to an existing solution first. What would you suggest? Thanks!
