The masked otsu threshold could probably be used for this.

The second threshold on the dilated fast marching could be created for the alive/trials seeds of the erosion.
This would prevent float comparison

When cutting the ball image, only the spherical region is cut. Since lung clean up is performed, we probably could spare the radius comparison and cut the entire cubic image instead.

Automatic resampling is useless, it should be deleted.

This also means that the spacing should be set for the ball image !

Settings alive seeds and trials seeds for fast marching will improve speed.

dVCLambda and iMaximumNumberOfVanCheseIterations are unused and should be deleted

The use of th "continue;" is ugly and should be refactored for a clearer code.

When using the label search within the radius of the upper seed, (Function LabelIt()), there is no need to relabel the image just before.
