[Feature] Possible to support {{date:____}} in hotkey?

Hi,

I use Periodic Notes and would rather use this plugin's functionality to open my daily/weekly/monthly notes. Didn't see it documented and I tried {{date:YYYY.MM.DD}} but that didn't work. Is there support for this, or would that be possible to add in?

Thank you!

configuration is unclear

Thank you for the plugin.

I was not able to get it working. I configured several files to open. Then I looked for corresponding entries in Obsidian's Hotkeys preferences pane, but couldn't find anything. Perhaps this text can be expanded:

You can set the files in the settings. A command will be generated for each file, then you can set your hotkey in the default hotkeys section in Obsidian.

Feature: open file in a new tab

Dear developer, I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for creating such an amazing plugin. It has been a game-changer for me and I am truly grateful. I would like to share a suggestion that I believe would enhance its functionality even further.

It would be great if the shortcut could allow me to open a file in the current tab, as long as it's an empty one. If not, then the file could open in a new tab. This would streamline the process, as currently, I have to create an empty tab before using the shortcut to open a file.

Thank you for your time and for considering this suggestion. I really appreciate all the hard work you have put into this plugin.

[BUG] Hotkey with file open causes Links panel to open

Issue

When I have a hotkey'd file open, if I use the hotkey then it will open the "Outgoing Links" panel.

To Reproduce

  1. Set hotkey for file (eg. planner/2023.05.Wk19.md)
  2. Open file in main panel
  3. Make sure you're on a different panel view (eg. Outline, Tags, etc.)
  4. Use hotkey
  5. Right panel switches to "Outgoing Links"

[Feature Request] Open Specific Notes as Hover Notes.

Hello @Vinzent03 !!!!!!!!

There is a new plugin called Hover Editor that bring to us the option of open files as popover.

Would be a fantastic companion for Hotkeys for Specific Notes !!!!

My FR is to add an option when creating a new hotkey to open the selected note as a Hover Note.

Thanks for reading this !!!!! I hope you like my suggestion ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™

Let me know if you need more information !!!

Have a great day ๐ŸŒž

[Feature] Hotkey for Notes in the Sidebar

Hello @Vinzent03 !

I'm a huge fan of Hotkeys for Templates and Hotkeys for Specific Files. These 2 plug-ins changed the way I use Obsidian in a way that you cannot imagine.

Since I'm just starting to use Obsidian to create a PKM, having these plugins is amazing. I really thank you for this :)

I wanna make a suggestion that is 100% related to Hotkeys for Specific Files: a feature to interact with Notes located in the Sidebar

Example:
You can see at discord many people creating beautiful notes with a lot of html/css customization, embed notes and backlinks and using than in the Sidebar for navigation.

I did something like that: I have 2 notes in my Right Sidebar to serve as a Timeblocking and Habit Tracker:

  • I divided my day into stages (planning, focused work and break) and apply some tasks and remiders (drink water, brush my teeth, strech and breath) to do along the day.
  • These notes stays in the Sidebar to a quick look during my day

What I need is a Hotkey to Show/Call these two notes in the Sidebar. We have shortcut to open/close sidebar, show/hide Backlinks, Outline, Search but we don't have one for Notes in the Sidebar :(

Instead of open the note in the active panel, I need a hotkey to open the Sidebar and show the specific note (important: the note was put/located in the sidebar previously)

  • Maybe a toggle on the File to Open Command with to show the note previously located on the sidebar instead of open in the active panel.

I hope you like my suggestion. Let me know if you need some clarification about it! I'm on Discord as well.

Have a great day and thanks for your time!

[Feature Request] Dynamically change the hotkey based on today's date

I know this might sound very user-specific, but I'll ask anyway.

So, I have my daily notes formatted by today's date as the title, ex. 2022-07-07, where I add my todo list for that specific dates plus some daily logs, which I want to keep for archive.

Anyway, the point is I go to my today's note quite often during the day, and I was wondering if I could create a hotkey that directly opens that up for me. The complication, of course, is that the title of today's date note changes on a daily basis. Not sure if that's possible to do using your plugin, but would really appreciate it.

Moment format - does not open today note

I added the following format for file to open:

\D\i\a\r\y/YYYY-MM-DD\-\l\o\g.md

(I understood the need for escape characters in order to define the folder and other characters outside the date format)

Expected: to open today's file:
Diary\2023-01-29-log.md

What happens: it opens
Diary\2023-01-28-log.md

(which is the last file I opened with the shortcut, yesterday)

If I close and reopen Obsidian the file for today is opened correctly.

Feature: setting to open in new tab

I have use case that would benefit of this feature. If I make QuickAdd script that opens notes A and B in two tabs, then a new empty tab is created if B is already open.

Support opening the same file in different panes

In the current version, it seems that one cannot open the same file in different panes. I tried to open the same file in a different pane, then it navigates to the file that has been opened in another pane, instead of opening it again in another pane.
