ALX Intranet Theme Selector - Chrome Extension

This is a simple chrome extension for The ALX SE Intranet Dashboard. The extension allows you to switch between two themes - light mode (by default) and dark mode. It provides an easy and convenient way to change the theme of your browsing (learning) experience, making it more comfortable for your eyes by generating a dark mode that aims to reduce the eyestrain of the user.

Installation

To install ALX Intranet Theme Selector:

Simply goto the Chrome Extension Webstore
Search for "ALX Intranet Theme Selector"
Click on the name in the ensuing result
Click "Add to Chrome"

You can also follow the steps below if you encountered any issue with the first step:

Download the extension package from the Chrome Web Store or the GitHub repository.
Extract the package to a directory of your choice.
Open Google Chrome, and navigate to chrome://extensions.
Enable the Developer mode toggle in the top right corner of the screen.
Click on the "Load unpacked" button and select the directory where you extracted the extension package.

Usage

ALX Intranet Theme Selector is very easy to use. Once you have installed the extension, you will see the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar that represents the theme selector. Click on the icon and choose your mode to switch between light mode (default) or dark mode.

NB: If you don't see it, click on the extension icon on your toolbar, locate the ALX SE Theme Selector icon and pin it to your toolbar by clicking on the pin icon beside it.

Support for new curriculum switcher and its dropdown menu

Started my specialization today and noticed that there is a new dropdown Navbar (I'm assuming it's new since it is not supported by the extension)

I am proposing some changes to support dark mode as illustrated:

Subsequenlty, I'm going ahead and creating a pull request to reference this issue.

Provide options for users to choose color for code elements

Selected options in quiz are not visible

Made current date on calendar look more presentable and easy to spot

Added borderline colour to the calendar's current date

Feature:
added lime-green(--col-current-date-border) border colour to the current date on the
calendar to make it stand out when checking the calendar

Fix:
Changed the background for current date from #888672 to #121212(--col-bg-400) to  improve the visibility
of the current date and also make it look clean and consistent with the dark theme

Doc:
I made it easier for users to quickly identify the current date on the calender
as soon as they visit the calendar page

Dark theme not applied to Page Not Found response

Request for a resource not on the intranet opens a page not found which does not have the dark theme applied to it.

Feature: Add background color to the current date in Events (Planning) Calendar

This can help the learners easily identify the current date.

Dark theme implementation for Link Discord account button not complete

The button to link your Discord account on the intranet profile is not fully having the dark theme applied to it.

The button now:

Hi, I noticed a usability issue in the popup.html file in ALX-DarkMode-project. Specifically, on line 42 of the popup.html file, a link is missing the target="_blank" attribute, which means that the linked page opens in the same tab, it actually does not open at all when you click it directly. .I suggest adding the target="_blank" attribute to this link to improve the user experience and make the like work as expected. Firefox Support

I recently switched to using Firefox as my default browser and somehow, I now feel the pain of using the intranet on the light mode. Is there a support for the extension on firefox. If yes, how can I get it running. I already tried to reead the little documentation made available, but I couldn't find any information on firefox support, it's more of a chrome thingy.
