When does the crash happen - when looking the recipe up, using the question mark function, or when they try and pull it out of the table?

Also, which crafting table is being used for the crafting?

it happens when trying to pull it out of the table. we have used both a vanilla crafting bench, as well as our personal; 2x2 grid

I was thinking it may be a potential issue with NEI Integration, given that the itemIDs come up as -1 as well

I think you might be right - theres an update to NEI Integration, so we'll drop that into 1.3 and hope it resolves the issue.
