I have a library with default charset utf-8. When I use the plugin to generateJavadoc
the task give me error message :
Error: encode unmappable characters of GBK charset (translation from Chinese)
The main project has subprojects A and B, while B depends on A:
B/B.gradle:

The command ./gradlew -b B/B.gradle generateReleaseJavadoc
results in many errors because gradle will find external while not finding internal dependencies:

Inside Android Studio, all those classes are found.
The documentation is generated despite those errors, but documented annotations may be missing and links are not resolved.
I'm using the latest version 0.3.0. When run the command : ./gradlew generateJavadoc nothing happens. No docs are generated or anything . Here is the exact output:

I can add the plugin as a dependency in my project build.gradle:

With the androidJavadoc{} block, I get this error:

I have placed androidJavadoc{} into different blocks, but I always get this error. Where must it be placed to make it work?
Hey, working on Simple-Dilbert, I tried to include your plugin instead of deprecated javadoc generation syntax.
0.3.0 does not fail, but does not generate any docs either (build/tmp/generateVariantJavadoc is empty, jar contains only MANIFEST.MF)
0.4.0-SNAPSHOT fails with "undefined symbol com.mareksebera.simpledilbert.R"

Running on host with OpenJDK 11 JRE+JDK only, Gradle 5.2.1
Could you maybe check, if that is your library or my build config issue?
Also your docs do not mention necessity of android>defaultConfig>versionCode/versionName properties (I used to have those only in AndroidManifest.xml), without those in build.gradle the javadoc is unnamed

I have some error, but it can be ignored. is there way to conitnue building java doc by ignoring any "error: cannot find symbol"

This is the error developer gets in Android Studio 3.3.0 when using gradle-android-javadoc-plugin:0.3.0 with com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.3.0
Is there possibility to fix it so it works with the newest stable Android Studio and gradle build tools plugin?
With the latest gradle 5.0 that is the default for Android Studio, the 0.3.0 release throws a deprecation warning shown below. This is already fixed, but there is no release yet that includes that fix. It would be great to have a 0.4.0 release so folks using the latest Android build tools don't have to rely on the snapshot build to avoid this warning. Thanks!

Links to dependency docs (besides the Java SDK) are missing. It is possible to link to Android SDK by using this javadoc option:

If you dont agree to include this (sadly, links to the Android reference must be opened in a window to be visible), at least I d like to manually add this option, so this issue may be solved together with #42
I'm somewhat new to gradle and I haven't been able to setup the generated jar with documentation to have the name of my project. The generation works as expected but the output comes something as app-7.0.1-Debug-javadoc.jar
and would prefer to have it named like myproject-7.0.1-Debug-javadoc.jar
.
I might be missing some configuration in my gradle project, but do have rootProject.name = "myproject"
set on my settings.gradle
file.
For setting up the aar output name I have setProperty("archivesBaseName", "satelgin-$versionName")
on the
defaultConfig
for the app's build.gradel
, witch works for me. Do I need to set some property like this to control the generated name of the documentation jar?
The currently published plugin does not include the task for generate Javadoc JARs (I get "Task 'generateDebugJavadocJar' not found in project ...").
